I have never had a console, handheld, computer, or anything like that die on me.

My 360, GBC, GBA, DS Lite, PS2, Wii and NES still all work like a charm.

I have gotten rid of all my older consoles, the oldest one I have right now is my original PS2 that I have had since it first came out.

Sega Genesis (1) - got it Christmas of '94 and lasted about 3 years before it broke (not sure why)
Sega Genesis (2) - after first Genesis broke; still functional, but the controllers are pretty messed up
Nintendo 64 - got it in Christmas '97 and still functions today. I play it every now and then for Megaman 64.
Playstation 2 - got it in the beginning of '01 and still works to this day (though it has noticeable wear and tear
Wii - got it early 2007 (after the holiday rush) and is still used today (mostly for Mario Kart and SSB Brawl)
Playstation 3 - got it in '08 and still works to this day

I took care of my consoles the best I could and for the most part, are functional and in one piece.

I have a lot of old consoles but those weren't all originally mine. The N64 though, I've had that for 12 years. The controllers have never had long life-spans, though...
