Pretty self explanatory.

My current Xbox has been in service the last 4 and a half years, and I'm going to retire it on the 20th, in favor of the new GoW3 Xbox.
God of war 3 Xbox? wtf?

OT: My PS3 is still going strong for 3 and a half years now. My NES is going strong since 1985. My buddies Intellivision still works...1979. so yeah....When the current gen gets there then we can talk about console Longevity lol. My ps2 also still works lol.
Gears of War 3

OT: I am sure my N64 works, so it's going on 14 years strong.

My playstation was bought in 1997 and still works, not only does it work but it also sees regular use. No part has ever failed, it has never needed repairing - so, 14 years and counting.

Atari 2600... got it in 1986 as a gift from my uncle. Not sure how long he had it before that. Still works.

The only console I've ever had die on me was a Sega Genesis... and that was from an accident.

Well, if we're not counting my original GameBoy, I've had my xbox 360 Elite since release date (August 24th, 2007), so just over 4 years.

My sega genesis still works. And it's got to be like, 16-17 years old.

MY PS2 is still in fine working order, and that is after 10 years of me using it constantly (though admittedly that has been a lot less recently)

I've owned every nintendo console ever, and as far as I know they all still work to this day, I sold the NES that was older then me to buy a 360 back in 2009 but it worked when I sold it.

the 360 RROD'ed in 6 months sent it to microsoft and it has done fine since.

My Pikachu edition N64 still works, and I got that when it came out. Spent most of it's life in a box though, it'd probably have broke if it was in use for that whole time.

Mega Drive: 1991(my dad got it back then)-present - in storage
GBA: 2002-present - rarely play it anymore
Wii: 2008-present - works fine, just my cats damaged the sensor bar wire
NES: 1987(my dad got it back then)-present - in storage
PSP: 2007-present - works fine, just the screen has a small crack
DS: 2005-present - works fine, despite the top screen hanging by a thread

My original, launch release, Nintendo GameBrick still worked when I gave it to my uncle for his kids a couple years ago. I loved that big, blocky, could-be-used-as-a-weapon-in-a-pinch handheld.

My first system was a SNES that still works perfectly 19 years later. In fact, every console I own has never given me any trouble, except my launch model PS3 which died a little over a year ago actually. Kind of funny since my PS2 will turn 11 next month (launch model) and still works perfectly.

Still got my old C64 and my old SNES. Both are still functional and the last one is still used sometimes (quite rare). Also got a working N64.

Don't know exc. about the C64 (kinda inherited it) but the SNES was put into Duty somewhen mid-90ish and the N64 somewhen late-90-early-2000ish.

Oh yeah: And my Gameboy (the original one) still works. Bought it a year or so before the SNES if I remember right.

All of my consoles still work. I have a NES, SNES, N64, PS, PS2, DS.

The only consoles I have ever had to replace is a SNES way back and that was because something happened to the sound on it, and it sounds really fucked up.

I think the older systems were built using a higher quality hardware. Or there is just less to fucking break.

My five year old Xbox that has been fixed twice sounded like it was going to explode so in fear of my life I traded it in recently and got seventy pounds of the new slim Xbox I just pity whatever poor sap they sold it on to I would not be surprised if it ended up burning their house down.
My actual oldest working console is my N64 but it doesn't get nearly as much use as the Xbox though I used to play it a lot its about nine or ten years old now probably.
