Oh, man, I don't have ONE. Picking one is not fair, I tells ya!

John Dies at the End is one of the best, though. It manages to be both funny AND horrific. It's fucking awesome and if you haven't read it, you're missing out. The movie isn't bad but if you've read the book, you know a lot was missing in both tone and content.

Ubik is also up there. I could throw a bunch of PKD books out as my favourite but I think Ubik is the one that's stuck with me the most. Although, I'm reading Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and I think that might top it.

I'm reading Perdido Street Station and I have a good feeling about that...

Honourable mention: Fellowship of the Ring And Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban. HP is more of a nostalgia trip, to be honest but I think the books would still hold up if I reads them now. I haven't finished the LotR books since, as mentioned, they're slow as fuck. But slow isn't always bad.

Holy shit milk! I forgot to mention Game of Thrones! I love all the ones I've read so far but Game of Thrones is what started it, so that's above the others for me. It's fucking incredible. That ending gave me a fucking break down!

The Sicilian is probably the one I have re-read the most. Excellent spin-off to the Godfather lacking in the only real complaint I've had about most of Puzo's other stories, the habit of spending entire chapters recounting the detailed backstory of a character who was just introduced.

I'm also big on Star Wars novels, or at least the good Del Rey ones, and of all of them I'd have to elect Destiny's Way as my favourite of them. As many Shonens and other stories have shown us, there are few things more satisfying than watching/reading a previously near-invincible villain get their comeuppance at long last, and it was a long wait (though well-foreshadowed). Points just for the 'nostril of Palpatine' diatribe at the start and in the previews.
