I think that'd be my desktop PC, and upgrades for it over the years. Most recently a fairly major upgrade at nearly $1500.

Looking to upgrade my audio gear soon, which will most likely end up being a costly undertaking, but with the stuff I'm looking at it still won't rival my PC.

While I would say mt PC but my parent did paid most of it (the next PC will be with my own cash now that I got a job).
Anyway I think it was the Wii that was the most expensive thing I have bought since I bought it on launch day including getting LoZ: Twilight Princess and extra Wiimote and nunchuck so it was around £200 I think? (It was a long time ago.)

$1600NZD on my current PC, sooo $1360ish USD. Worth every cent, and I plan on selling/passing it on to my GF and then using some of that to upgrade to a new one.

I think I put right around $2500 into my desktop with about $200 of that being shipping.

Can't really think of any big-ticket items(aside from $4000 for an old BMW) that I've bought.

Probably my PC or holidays. Those things are pretty expensive if you count all the combined expenses for them.

I've also spent a hell of a lot on 1/6 scale action figures. It's like you see one thing that's cool and then you need to make an entire 1/6 scale universe... Just got these little fellas [http://www.worldofthreea.com/portal-2/w5h59wdmteu5o8zwbhuyq0a5kfu2zk] today!

Let's see...

Well, for starters, there's my first PS3, which I picked up for $500. Eventually it bricked, and I had to pick up a replacement for $250.

My current PC... jeez, I bought that so long ago I'm not 100% sure how much I spent on it, but I believe it was $700.

Beyond electronics, I think the most expensive luxury item I've ever bought was this:

Masterpiece Soundwave for $120 bucks. Totally worth it.

My computer, I guess.
Was about £700 and then it broke (the motherboard caught fire a little bit)- so it's gonna cost me about £200 to fix it. :(
I'm using my boyfriend's until payday, and even then I may not be able to fix it all in one go.

It's been a while since I bought it but in terms of one off payments one of my guitars(specifically my 7-string prestige ibanez) is the most expensive thing I've bought it was over £1000 which s pretty pricey.

I'm sure my drum kit probably cost me more overall but the cost for that is spread out. Same goes for my tattoo's which isn't as expensive but it soon will be.

All the money I've dropped in Scuba Diving. That's an expensive hobby, so much so that I can't afford it and had to stop xD

I'm surprised not to see more musicians in this thread. I myself spent 1200 euro on a 1800 euro guitar. Best deal ever. This was in a time when the euro was worth a lot more, too.

I was going to say my 32" TV but then I realized my laptop was about $450. Which was fantastic for the hardware I got.

So houses and cars don't count? I've spent serious cash on an air conditioner for a house in a cool climate and a recreational prosthesis, but I suppose one could argue those were necessities. And I (or the wife and I, technically) spent about $8000 CDN was a bathroom renovation (it wasn't necessary since the existing one was functional, just ugly).

For pure consumer goods though (I'm assuming things like travel and events don't count), I've spent around $1000 on a couple of TVs (several years apart), and equal (or more) amounts on a couple of pieces of furniture and on a couple of collectibles.

Everything you described is more or less the main reason why I chose Frolf (Frisbee/Disc Golf) over actual golf. I only needed spend a whopping $35 on a handful of different purposed Discs and they do me fine just fine. Anyway, most expensive thing .... that was a private commission of something I really didn't need, but at that time had the excess money for. Should I ever have the power of reversing past decisions, that would be one. Overall, I spent around $1500 bucks that I would love to have back now.

The very laptop I am typing this on. It set me back ?1100 but I do firmly believe it was money well spent.

I don't know what to say here. My house was £320k, my car was £21k, my new PC built last Sept. was £1.4k, a £900 TV last Summer.

Relatively speaking, my GFX card wasn't cheap. I buy the best of a new generation which then lasts me for years, so when I bought last Summer, it was eVGA GTX780 Classified that set me back about £350ish on its own (and even that is with a saving of £100+ by buying it from the USA and bringing it back to the UK by hand. In the UK it's a lot more expensive (likely due to UK 20% sales tax and US, ordering online, zero tax).
