But what I want to know is, what am I, and other people, missing out on. What's you're favorite gamemode, contraption or random thing about gmod?
Finally a newcomer with good grammar too. You'll get on well here good sir.
I'm still yet to buy GMOD, is it worthwhile?
HL2 mod, 5$ on steam. You're given a selection of tools and weapons to just mess around. You can build contraptions by welding things together, setting them to do several other things. It's hard to explain, just watch some videos. Content is also plentiful, and it exports any content you have from other source games automatically. Hl2 is required to play though.goatzilla8463 said:Garry's mod?
What's that?
A game that you really need to know about. It comes in the Orange Box and (I think) with all of the other game packs on Steam. You need a Source Engine game to play it, and you can basically have fun with any of the elements from Source Engine games that you own: TF2, Portal, HL, etc. It's like GTA stripped down but with the ability to manipulate everything. A combo of GTA and Sim City/Sims, if that makes sense.goatzilla8463 said:No seriously, what is it?Abedeus said:-snip-

Damn I want to load that up again... But when I play Gary's Mod several hours can pass without me noticing.
No. You buy it separately. Orange Box has only Half Life 2 + Episode One and Two, TF2 and Portal.Aqua Trenoble said:A game that you really need to know about. It comes in the Orange Boxgoatzilla8463 said:No seriously, what is it?Abedeus said:-snip-

Give it a go again, its ridiculously cheap, and makes the free version look crap.GodsAndFishes said:Back when GMod was free (i'm refusing to pay and so haven't played it for years) i always enjoyed just making huge explosions near lots of zombies. I considered it a failure if the game didn't crash

Well maybe it doesn't automatically come with the physical OB, but I do know that if you download the set from Steam then you get Garry's Mod as well. Check the OB product description on Steam. I'd provide a link but I don't know how...
Really? Weird, cause I have a friend who got the OB from Steam (I actually was there at the time he was downloading it, the damn thing took forever) and got GM too. Maybe he already had it, but that doesn't make much sense since he didn't own any Source games before the OB.Abedeus said:http://store.steampowered.com/sub/469/Aqua Trenoble said:*Re-enters thread*Abedeus said:No. You buy it separately. Nope, sorry. Only games named on the list.
I purchased (from Packs) only Orange Box, but that was after I bought TF2 and then Garry's Mod.Aqua Trenoble said:Really? Have you gotten any packs from Steam or are you just going by the product descriptions?
I dunno, what does the interface and all look like in 9.0? How is it different from the current version?Abedeus said:I purchased (from Packs) only Orange Box, but that was after I bought TF2 and then Garry's Mod.Aqua Trenoble said:Really? I find it very UNlikely that they gave a $10/10EUR game for free. Maybe he got the 9.0 version? That one is for free.
