Same boat as Erana- GoW 2 would have shocked me 6, maybe even 5 years ago. Everyone from Gods to Mortals has enough blood in them to fill a lake. Prometheus' torment in particular comes to mind.

It's not THE most violent game but the counter kills in Assassin's Creed are elegantly brutal. Nothing like stabbing someone through the foot with your dagger, then slicing them vertically from belly to collarbone before finally ramming the blade through the top of their head as they slump forward. Altiar even twists the blade to wrench it free of the poor dude's skull.

Dead Rising, although there was a flash game where you just repeatedly stab a hobo with increasingly large knives...

You should play ME2:TW, and zoom in on the battles, it puts most of Altairs kills to shame, they are just less detailed since it's a big scale RTS, but pick a lot of factions and make them battle out and zoom in, it's awesome, and hell, you'll recognize some of Altairs moves.

By far, i'd have to say The Mark of Kri. Nearly every combo was a finisher, stealth kills were brutal, and limbs would fly everywhere from something as simple as a swordstroke. Brutality as an artform there.

Condemned 2. That was one of the first times I've ever looked at something in a videogame and cringed (those torture devices in the school... *shudder*).

the most surprisingly voilent game would have to be Conkers Bad Fur Day, I looked at the cover and saw a cute little wide eyes squirrel and thought it was another nintendo kid game... nope sadly mistaken

Manhunt. Is anymore explanation required?

Edit: I know...could anyone tell me what this means: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /sixpack/web/global/classes/class.db.mysql.inc:147) in /sixpack/web/global/public/forums/process_post.php on line 41
That's what I get when I try and submit a post, and then I reload the page, and a box pops up that says 'Retry' and 'Cancel' and I click Retry and it apparently double-posts. I NEED ANSWERS!

For straight gore, God of War or Fallout with bloody mess.

Though for outright violence I found "The Warriors" had some of the most viscious moments I've ever seen. Bricks to the head, finishing moves with broken bottles, breaking bats on people in slow motion, just brutal.
