Maybe I just got lucky on this one, but Eileen took next to no damage in my game. Though it's true escorting her is a big pain in the ass when you know you're gambling your good endings on her health. Still you can easily tilt the odds by just not giving her a weapon to go gung-ho with (against
unkillable enemies to begin with) and using those candles to heal her every now and then.

Yeah, the "water room" is hairy enough without her NPC ass out in the open. Whenever I'm considering playing RE4 again I need only remember this part to ditch the idea. I hate how the zealots keep spawning and surrounding you and you're doing the protecting for two people. Usually you get a dumpster or a decent blind spot where to funnel in enemy hordes but this is Leon at his most vulnerable.
