What's wrong with my laptop/monitor?

I've been using 1600x900 since I connected this monitor to my laptop , and it worked fine until I disconnected my laptop to take it elsewhere, and now my laptop thinks the screen is designed around 1024x768.

Does anyone know why this might be?

Missing or outdated drivers, maybe? Have you tried adjusting the resolution for the screen in windows?

Yeah, starting with updating your drivers is never a bad thing. The worst that'll happen is it won't fix this specific issue.
