It seems whenever I buy a game that has greatest hits or platinum hits, people think I'm some kind of lose. I just don't see whats wrong with it. Escapists, do you guys buy platinum hits or think there is something wrong with it.

I just bought the force unleashed as a greatest hit. I see nothing wrong with it.

Theres nothing wrong with buy them at all, you still get the game and its a pretty good price. I personally don't though as I think it makes the box look ugly =X

Usually re-released games have improvements or dlc packed in.

example borderlands goty edition has all 4 dlc's for 60$ thats 20 for the game and 10/expansion. pretty swank.

Or dragon age ultimate edition. 60 bucks for 9 dlc, the expansion and the game? yes please.

Hell I bought the fallout 3 collectors edition. Then operation anchorage. Then I traded in the game and bought the goty edition for all the dlc.

There's nothing wrong with them. Most of the time, it's just a different coloured case. I don't see how there could be anything wrong with that.

Why the hell is your avatar a swastica...

OT: A lot of my games are platinum hits. There's nothing wrong with them unless you can't get over a change is case or cover art color.

You obviously are not one of the cool kids who have to have the game on day one and are willing to fork out $30-$40 more for the ability to play it on the day of release, regardless that chances are there will be game breaking bugs that they have to work on with patches and updates for the first few weeks.

I'll buy them if there are no copies that have the original case colors left (it's an OCD thing) but that is the only gripe I have with them and admittedly it's very minor and shallow. I'm all for getting things cheaper and very seldom do a buy games within six months of release (Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Spider-Man Shattered Dimension being the only exceptions this year).
