Scott Pilgrim, just because I think that movie literally defines what it is to be a pop-culture addicted twenty-something slacker in the 21st century.

Scott Pilgrim was pretty awesome, and it's definitely my favourite, although Inception would be what I consider the best of this year.

How to Train Your Dragon.
This. Absolute favourite movie of all time.

It was just so enjoyable; I don't know how anyone couldn't love it.
I think of this film as the Representation of me.

Caddyshack still is my all time favorite movie, but "How to Train your dragon" is like watching myself, on screen, Hiccup and Toothless were both sides of my personality
Hiccup was that sarcastic and somewhat certain, not to mention excusful, side of me
Toothless was the reckless and overeager side of me

I love the film. There you go.

EDIT: No, scratch that, I REALLY love the film (and the book, which I read of course)

Definitely Inception and Scott Pilgrim. Its not often I finish watching a movie and want to stay in the cinema so I can catch the next screening.

Also, HP: Deathly Hallows I is awesome!

The Social Network is first, followed by Inception. I have yet to see Toy Story 3, Scott Pilgrim, or Kick-Ass, though, although I have a feeling that none of those would displace The Social Network. Inception, on the other hand, might be bumped down.

It didn't come out this year, but I only watched it a couple of months ago.

Inglourious Basterds - best film I ever watched.
i didnt really like inglorious basterds. i think it is because they pitched it as a comedy but it was more of a drama so i was dissappointed when i went to see it

as for my favorite movies i cant really pick just one.

kick ass, toy story 3, the expendables, and scott pilgrim even though i havent seen it. oh and also the social network and harry potter 7 even though i havent seen those (people who have similar movie tastes as mine have told me those 3 were damn good movies so ill take their word for it.)

and yes i have a 6 way tie who gives a crap? they were all good movies!!

Inception.

I deliberately kept myself from learning anything about the plot, and as a result it really wowed me. The one thing I don't get is all the people that didn't get it, but think that I'm being smug because I think it wasn't very mindfucky- everything about it and the setup made it very easy to follow what was going on, as long as you just listened to the dialogue.

1) Four Lions: black comedy involving moronic Islamic terrorists.
2) Inception: pure Nolan mindscrew
3) Despicable Me: nice breakout film for the creators
4) Toy Story 3: for nostalgia mainly
