[hr]

As yet another weekend draws to a close, I find myself relished into the passion that is my lifelong enjoyment of video games. Having just completed a brutal assignment for my Art History class, I now find myself with some free time, finally. In a few moments, I plan to enjoy Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, followed by World of Warcraft, as I am quite accustomed to.

Now I ask you, my friends, what is your game?*

[sub]*Meaning, what current game are you enjoying the most and why? What is it about the game that you love so much?[/sub]

I think I'll be one of many to say Skyrim.

It's hard to explain why I enjoy it like I do, I think it's something do with the lack of variation I have in my game collection (many being shooters), it just feels good to have a world I can get lost in like I did with other games like Pokemon many moons ago. Stumbling into new, incredible things by accident that lead onto a trail of exploration, when you truly feel like you've discovered something and you have to tell someone about it. Those are the kind of games I love, and Skyrim is one of them.

It's escapism of the finest level, and I don't think I play it enough. I often find myself going on Call of Duty instead, it's a time/mood thing really.

But when I do play it, God is it awesome.

Skyrim and UMvC3 have been taking most of my time recently. Skyrim has just been an amazing experience; almost every cave or dungeon has a quest or story to go along with it. UMvC3 pisses me off sometimes because I'm an awful player but I keep coming back to it. Its speed and absurd fun are the biggest draws for me.

Yeah, Skyrim. I actually have it open right now. I alt tabbed out to watch Desert Bus (although I still listen to it while playing) and figured I would do other internet things.

UMVC3.

I love it. I love how its more zoning based than rushdown too, because that's always been my strong point.

I do plan on picking up Skyward Sword and Halo Anniversary soon though.

Enjoying Most CURRENTLY?

That prize goes to Saint's Row: The Third.

I'm currently walking about town collecting sex dolls and completing the challenges and activities.

May I also say I'm doing all of this dressed as a toilet?

After several months away from it, I'm back on Minecraft, having started a new world to mark the official release.

Why do I love it? Because it's the best virtual world simulator I've ever experienced. Despite the blocky graphics it feels like a real place - vast, unpredictable and often visually stunning. No invisible walls, no scripted events, no prompts for me to go there, do this. It's just me, my pick axe and the world.

Path of Exile, currently in the closed beta and having a great time. Though I keep restarting characters, had the game 4 days and I've made 7 different characters so far and will create even more when the final class is released.

Minecraft/Battlefield 3/Frozen Synapse/Civ V/Dirt 3. They all offer different things that I appreciate.

Right now I'm hooked on Saints Row 3

But I assumed this topic was asking what our favorite game was, so I'm going to answer that question anyway. Favorite game is Legend of Mana.

Ico I've fallen in love with the game the scenary is just amazing and the puzzles are clever but not completley complex. I'm currently on my second playthrough and that trophy that says beat the gamein 2 hours looks rather hard.

Also I will be using this game for a 3000 word essay in my New Media course.

Currently spread between 3 games.

Skyrim mainly, loving that game. DCUO is pretty decent for what it is (and free) and i'm in the beta test for another game.

Fire emblem (2003 GBA) I've played through this game like 10 times. I love the characters, the tactical gameplay, the difficulty, the large number of ROM hacks, and the fact that you can play through the game only using a handful of characters if you're good enough.

The original Monster Hunter. Love the series, and had never played the one that started it all, so I tracked it down, and am enjoying every controller-breakingly awesome second.

Whelp, I just wrapped up a Be a Pro campaign in NHL 10. That was "my game" for a few months now. I'm currently between "my game"s, so I'm going to try out all of my sister's PS3 titles (MW3, MoH, SOCOM: Confrontation, RE5...) before I choose the one to fall in love with for the next month or more.
