This is likely to be one of the tamest things on the thread, but tall guys. The taller a guy is, the less attractive he has to be in any other way. I was shopping once and saw a guy who must have been at least 6'9", and I just stopped dead in my tracks and blatantly stared with my mouth hanging open. Honestly couldn't tell you what his face was like!

Hm. I find it a huge turn-off when someone overtly associates with just about any subculture. Subcultures whose essence is nonconformism by the hundreds of thousands if not millions in particular.

Ehh, to take a mild defense to this I'd say it's simply a natural thing that happens. A lot of us grow up having idols, or people we look up to, and a lot of times we come to emulate their aesthetics even on a subconscious level. I grew up digging punk rock, the people I looked up to wore tight jeans and leather jackets, is it super crazy that I still think these things are pleasing to my eye? Then again I've never claimed to be a nonconformist.

EDIT: Well I probably did when I was a teenager. Teenagers are by definition all stupid though, and I'm striking that from my personal record.

Isn't the whole nonconformist thing explicitly part of the subculture, though? For me, it's always been odd to see my peers aping people that in a lot of cases they appreciate for their perceived originality.

I've always seen it like this: any sub or counter culture (even ones who's origin is in the nonconformist area) that's got any kind of staying power is going to solidify eventually, develop it's own cultural bits and pieces, touchstones, etc.

I also think it's one of those interesting outside-looking-in vs. being a part of it things? Me being a part of it, I don't see a bunch of people all dressing the same, yet I look over at other groups and bam I'm doing that to them. Sort of looking at a painting from far away and seeing one solid colour, then getting close and seeing all of the gradations and subtle differences?

But yeah now I'm way off topic and I'm not even completely disagreeing with you on this one. Never mind!
