Lots of CS people it seems. Not a lot of engineers, which I'm surprised about.

Anyway, BS in electrical engineering. Hurrah!

At the moment I'm officially undeclared but I intend to either major in English or Philosophy but minor in Journalism regardless of the major. I have to admit though that I only like the idea of majoring in Philosophy solely so when people call me on bullshitting them I can just yank out my degree and say, "uh, yeah. Got a degree in it. I'm a LICENSED bullshitter, thanks."

I'm weird like that, in that I would totally waste 4 years of my life for a joke.

I have an advanced diploma of applied arts, and my major is music. Maybe I'll go to University some day and do the teacher's college nonsense, but I don't know. $600 is all that separates me from the Kindermusik program, which is done through correspondence. That's what I really want.

Can someone alert Jack Thompson and/or Michael Atkinson that we have dozens of gamers and nerds in this thread who not only are NOT heavily-armed sociopaths but who indeed may be a cross-section of society who are better-educated, better motivated, and quite possibly just plain better people than all those muggles who don't play games?

Or are they quite well aware of this fact and they fear our superior intellect and professional abilities?

I've done Culinary Arts with a specialty in pastry; going to start vet tech training soon though. I'm considering doing full on veterinary medicine when my husband gets out of the corps. We can't exactly relocate near a vet school just yet ^_^

Probably the latter. But, alas, it will probably take another generation or so before people like Thompson and Atkinson are truly regarded by all as the nutters that we know them to be.

I can wait.

Hoping to clear my BA Law next year, MA the years thereafter, and probably promote, get my Dr. Title:)

That would be so cool, because I also plan on teaching, therefore I shall be Prof. Dr. Mr. De Ronneman.
[sub]Obviously not my real last name, but that's none of your business...[/sub]

As long as we have people in the world like that choir director in Wisconsin that Rickrolled the Escapist, and as long as we have the kids who grew up on games and nerdy stuff growing up and having kids of their own, Thompson and Atkinson will steadily grow weaker.

Might take another generation, but we'll do just fine.

I'm majoring in English: Creative Writing. I think I'll just stick with getting a BA. Four years of college is plenty for me.

BI (Bachelor of Innovation) in Game Design and Development. Combines engineering (Game Design) and "Innovation" (Bussiness) classes. My university just started the program a few years ago and hopefully it gains popularity or else I'm dead >.<

Welcome to the Escapist! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

(and you share a birthday with my mother---but I bet that at 54 she's a bit older than you!)

Evolutionary biology, and I want to go all the way to the PhD
And are you going to start a punk rock band and challenge Greg Graffin for the title of "most awesome evolutionary biologist"?

Art BTEC (equivalent to 3 A levels).I'm just finishing my 2nd year, moving onto Uni soon, studying the same thing.

Not sure it's exactly the safest career path but it's the only thing I'm any good at.

Currently planning to do a major in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, maybe followed by a Psychology course so I'm recognised by the national psychological group. After that, no idea.
This site must be a hell of a case study ;)
