As the topic suggests; what is your personal quirk?

It can range from anything as heavy as an OCD involving how many times you flick a light switch, to something as minor as always wearing a certain item of clothing. It can be something about your personality, your demeanor, your likes, your dislikes, something that makes you stand out, something people notice about you. Anything that you think qualifies as being a quirk.

For me, i have a pretty bad case of the "irish jig". My leg jerks up and down uncontrollably when i'm sitting down. It generally occurs when i'm stressed, anxious or even bored, though it can occur by itself without me realising even when i'm not experiencing any of the above. It's led to a few embarrassing moments when people have commented or asked why my leg has been shaking so violently, particularly in a public setting. When i try to consciously stop myself from doing it, it's a struggle, and the urge to just let it go nuts is overwhelming. It's really hard to explain it.

I have tendency to jump around far too much. No matter what the mood, in order to express my self properly my feet must be of the ground once. Im not even an excitable person.

Oh, that and I can terrify myself into paralysis.

After I lock the door, I check the handle rapidly 10 times to make sure it's locked. If I accidently go past 10, I feel the need carry on to 20. It puts my mind at ease for some reason.

I check to see if I've locked the doors to outside at least 2 or more times a night. Also, I'm paranoid. I got it from my mum...

I make funny noises, and do voices. If i hear an accent long enough, I'll just start talking in it.

I must check my pockets when i'm out at least once every 3 minutes. Also when i'm watching something (anime, ZP etc) i must have a drink of tea at exactly the right temperature otherwise i'll be feeling annoyed through the entire thing...

That happens to me as well, I normally get asked why my leg is shaking.

But anyway, I'd say I have a medium case of OCD. When I say that, I mean it's not very bad like you sometimes hear about, but it's no small case.
One of my quirks is with wires, they cannot over lap. If they do, I will sort them out no matter how long it takes.
I also have thing about coat hangers, they have to be in a certain order for me to be content, but since I started to do that, I barely use them anymore.
I also have a plush toy that -needs- to be in the right position, or I'll just be there trying to get it in perfect place on my desk.

I love gloves.

I'm wearing some right now, black-and-blue horizontally-striped fingerless ones.

I wish I could wear gloves everywhere; I'd get expensive, custom-fitted, finely made ones so that I'd never have to take them off (except for washing).

I find gloves on women to be rather attractive, it's a shame I live in Australia so no-one wears them.

Edit: Oh, and when I peg up clothes to dry, I always, ALWAYS match pegs in size, colour, brand - even quality - for each individual item.

I'll spend two minutes standing at the peg basket searching for the perfect peg if I have to.

I tend to wear a sergeant rank slide on my belt as a reminder of my time in cadets. Also, that belt? It has a batman buckle.

And there's a symmetry compulsion of sorts that I know lots of other people have. If ever I scratch one arm, I must then scratch the other. Stumble slightly on one step? Have to do it on the other foot too at some point. And so on. Wearing a watch is the closest thing I've found to a fix for that. It gets kind of annoying otherwise. That feeds into the thing whereby I must know what the time is ALL THE TIME!

When stepping around objects or people, I start to do Kung-Fu (Kung-Fu gets spell-checked? It's 2011!) motions with my hands. In a subtle fashion most of the time.

Same here. Dunno why. Everyone has their quirks. I'm in southern California and nobody wears them.

As for me, I tend to talk to myself, out loud, a lot. It's not like I'm carrying on conservations, I just think aloud. Like when I'm typing I'll suddenly say part of the sentence. Maybe I want to hear how it sounds for emphasis, maybe I'm solidifying the thought. But no matter what the case is it's gotten me a few funny looks.

Sometimes I do voices.

I always smell my food before I start eating.

Same here. The only time I see anyone with gloves in Southern California is when I see construction workers and doctors.

I have many quirks. I'll only put one about my demeanor for I'm not typing while I should be making dinner.

My default expression is a scowl bordering on angry. I can be happy and having a great day and just not ever smile.

OT: I'm mainly known for being a massive spaz (also smart, but mostly being a spaz).

is that what that's called? mine does that too, but i can stop or start it at will, so though it's automatic, it's not completely out of my control. usually i just let it go crazy cause it's fun.

OT: noone notices this at all, but i allways face away from doors when i close them. i also have a unique method of handling long handled tools (broom/mop/shovel/etc) that is the most natural way for me, but does draw some attention.

I'm not Canadian at all, but I still say out, oot.

I constantly tap my car's unlock button as I approach it.

If I'm wearing a knife, I stroke it. It soothes me.

Hey, me, too. I blame watching too much Avatar, myself.
