Healer. I don't care if it's in the game, shouting "I'm a healer!" and ducking behind a rock works just as well.

More often then not I am either the bait or the scout. Bait in the idea, I draw the guy with kick ass weapon at me so someone else can kill him. I die alot when it comes to any team based deal. So if you're going to die either way, why not use it. When I played Gears I was the guy who popped up a second before the guy runs out of ammo so the enemy is still being fired on when the good guy is reloading. Now for the scout I am the guy who goes for a rather defense movement. Get in as far as I can without being fired on to report what the enemy best I can. When that fails, just pop up and down as I move.

Depends on what the rest of my team is doing, if everyone else is on offence, I'm defence and vice versa.

Actually now that I think about it I manage a pretty good balance of roles. I like to experience it all. I suppose generally I tend towards leadership or support roles, as opposed to basic grunts. But I even do that a lot of the time.

Support classes, Mainly Medics. Fastest bandage arm in the west.

I have been known to snipe, but I like to stick to my syringes, mediguns and med packs

Defense, with shoot-on-sight tactics. But if my team is whooping ass, then I'll go on the frontlines. I was about to get prefection on CTF on Snowbound (Halo 3 of course) with a sniper spree but was 2 kills short... <3 sniper rifles for defense. I hate those people who hog the sniper rifle when they're on offense then they are the first ones to die and the enemy picks up their sniper and owns with it...

I break out my medkit.
You and me both.

I keep the team alive, because chances are, two or three people will go down to the lucky camping *****. It's my job to revive them or heal them so they can then go kill that lucky camping *****.

I mostly play BF2 for a proper team experience. I'm usually a sniper or a medic but i'm also pretty mean with a rocket launcher. I have also been told i make an excellent commander so i usually fulfill that role too

I'm always a medic. Everyone else fights while I sit somewhere safe and stitch together any of the bodies they drop at my feet. And everyone loves me for it.
Failing that, give me a BRF gun and point at stuff you want dead.

In S4, I make a pretty good medic/healer and if all else fails, meat shield. I also do mid-to-long-range. I enjoy hearing the phrase "Where the HELL did that come from!?"

Unfortunately I always end up on the anti-teamwork team. D: *hides alone on the nearest roof*

I tend to get up front for offensive missions and hold key area of defensive ones. I don't really have a a role, just give me a rifle and either follow me or stand back! usually if I'm playing with a group of my mates I'm the dude giving "orders". But Unfortunatly I'm "that" guy when it comes to video games, so people tend to listen to me :D

also it's funny too watch people run right into an enemy when you tell them the ways clear

I basically run around with an assualt rifle by myself taking down anyone that happens to be in front of me, until I die. Surpisingly, it works. Despite a very high death count, I normally reach 20+ kills on an average COD4 team deathmatch.

I'll normally take the role that nobody wants to be (Medic), or the role that gets me the most points. (Medic)

BTW, this is in direct comparison to TF2, as are most of the posts on this topic.

I love to snipe but am only so so at it. I normally end up being that extra guy where ever it is needed. If you need an extra gun on offense: thats me. Need another to watch the base? Me too. I guess I'm the bread and butter guy.

As for MMOs I normally end up being melee dps.

Usually I start off the match with assault rifles and LMGs with Extreme Conditioning to grab the high ground. After that, it depends on what strategy the enemy and my allies are using. If the enemy camps or uses UAVs, I stealth it with UAV jammer, shotguns or silenced SMGs. If they go on offense, I stick to assault rifles and LMGs. I snipe when I feel like it, which is not very often.

One general thing about my style is that I stick to close quarters combat. I play CoD Halo-style by jumping, crouching, and dodging. If I'm playing a map with long-range combat, I'll stealth it by crawling and sneaking. I'm a product of MGS, which is tragic because I don't own a PS3. I just replay MGS2 and 3.

Depends on the game.
I found that on Shadowrun, I played a team dwarf medic with ressurect and life tree.
But that was ONLY because I couldn't be arsed to figure out how to quickly switch abilities mid-match. So I just stayed with that combo that people appreciated.

But generally, I prefer close combat. Harder to miss. Halo, Gears of War, I'm a shotgunner at heart.
