If it's a male character, I'll usually go with Scott, my surname.

If it's female, it varies a bit more, though Marisa is always a common one for me.

Andantilus Wrethan, and if I'm feeling like a prick I'll add big fancy titles as well.

The first name originated from Fistandantilus of the Dragonlance novels, the last name I took from a random name gen because I liked it. I only use the full name in roleplay, which I rarely do anymore, but usually use the first name, or a slightly shortened "Andantil", as my screen-name (if you run into an "Andantil" online it's probably me); I use the last name as a first name for my female chars in games.

"Kenny, you bastard" when I play any multiplayer (and that isn't often)that flashes up a "You killed so and so" whenever I get killed. Makes it moderately entertaining the thought that someone who actually plays them might notice it and get a laugh.

I'll usually think of something depending on the Genre (i.e. if it's a Fantasy RPG, I'll usually use a variation on Maelstrom, Deathstrike, and a few others).

Okay, here's a rundown of things in games where I had a choice.

Fallout 1 - Jack
Fallout 2 - Jack
Fallout 3 - Jack
Fallout: New Vegas - Andrew (Because F3 Jack would still be alive during this time.)
Persona 1 - Drake
Persona 3 - Hakuro Kuroda
Persona 4 - Evan Ramsey
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - Kazu "Ricochet" Harada

The thing to note here is that I think of one of the characters I created in writing and so on and wrap it around the story of the game character.

I go for Caldir, which is part of an anagram of my full name. Pronounced Cal(as in cal'ender or cal'ibre)-deer. Although admitantly pronounciation doesn't really matter when reading an imaginary name.

A Hermit's Cave
Mostly it's Oraclea/Oracleus (stress on the -RAC-)

Occasionally, I'll use Deimos (for male 'Terror') or Megaera (for female 'the Jealous One', gotta love the Erinyes - nothing intended here, just like the sound).

I chose different first names, but my RPG last name is Blossom (ex. Flameblossom is a fire mage)

It is a tribute to Hackmaster and Knights of the Dinner Table.

Depends on what I'm playing as. If I play a magic based female character I like the name Valhii. If I play a bow based character I go as Althaea. Basically I imagine I'm still playing the same character, but with different scenery, like I'm on vacation.

For most online games it is Cpu46, although I did get the username Warpath in mabinogi (still have no clue why it wasn't taken). For D&D its often times Drew or some randomly generated name.

In competitive games it's: Kirazy

In roleplaying/MMO: Savasaan Todaro

Don't ask how I got those, because I dunno.

I'm wondering if anyone else on the Escapist has a name that they use in RPG's. For me it's Forrest, or on the rare occasions when a game lets me chose my last name like Persona 3, Forrest Burns. The Forrest part comes from my love of the film Forrest Gump, the very reason I am who I am today and the Burns part is because it's one of my families names.
Kira, if I can play a female. She's my mostly good sniper character. She wandered the wastes in Fallout 3, she saved the galaxy in Mass Effect - twice, she arrow-bombed various darkspawn in Dragon Age, and a number of other sundry RPGs. She is inspired by Aya Brea from Parasite Eve.

Gai, my amoral male blaster, if I'm stuck with a male, or replaying the game. He romanced Tali and Morrigon, he was my MC in every Persona game I've played (except my girl in P3P), he was my inspiration in Nier, and if I ever play Fallout 3 again he will be the evil bastard who makes the wasteland his personal *****.

Oh, and Kit, my female lead in Saint's Row, because you can't play a good-cop in that game. Based on my rather liberal interpretation of Kitiara from Dragonlance. I love her so much - awesome character. I loved cutting up gang members with my sword and wearing modern "dragon armor" crafted from various mis-matched costume items. ^^

Nuba, it's just something I have gotten used to. Got it from a species in spore that I loved.

Depends on what I'm playing.

If it's Guild Wars, I'm "Dagger."

If it's anything on the 360, It's "Lemon Lime."

If it's DND, it's Alex or Claudia.

Like previously stated, it depends on the game. Single player games I just sort of go with what I feel like, MMO:s I tend to go by Melian or some variation of it.

I use the character's actual name (e.g. Link, Tidus) - I thought that's what most people did >.< Guess that makes me weird, huh? :p
