How did you come to be at the escapist? Did you have another forum that you frequented before you came here?

I decided to make an account after just watching zero punctuation for three weeks. I then thought that I wouldnt lose anything if I made an account. I came here from the Flood forum (Off-Topic Forum) at bungie.net. I still go there, but I think I will visit here more often. People are nicer here.

Your story?

Normal story, joined after watching Zero Punctuation.

Although, I can't remember why I decided to make an account, but hey, I'm happier for it! ^^

I came here for Zero Punctuation, but now I'm only here for the forums, and the few people that I like that also are here.
Also, try using the search bar. There are many of these threads, and normally, aside from the "I came here for _________ and stayed for ________", the discussion is bare.

And now I come here for the forums. Hooray.

I have not used any other forum, either.

And welcome to the Escapist!
Someone will give you your speech soon.

Followed a link from a random website, and I've never looked back since.

This is the only forum I bother visiting, people here are generally speaking nice, creative, witty and politely sarcastic, something I like very much.

And welcome to you, young squire. You'll find your bed on the far side.

Beware of MaxTheReaper, he may bite.

Ha, thanks. I guess you should expect alot of these threads. No matter how much I try, I always make myself seem like a complete newbie. :p

I saw a ZP episode on Gametrailers, (its probably gone now), I loved it and eventually found myself at this site.

Suprisingly, back then I was a troll - eventually, though, this site (and its banhammer :p) cleaned me up, made me a respectable member of The Escapist :)

At the age of five I was kidnapped from my home by MI:5 to be forced into their Child Assassins program codename 'Little Buggers'. By the age of 10 I was top of my group in all aspects, with the notable exception in that I actually had a heart. At age 12 I decided I'd had enough of that shit and rebelled against my captors, eventually escaping through a small vent which lead into the loading dock area. Smuggling myself away on the underside of a catering lorry, I soon found myself lost and alone as a twelve year old assassin in the outside world for the first time.

A couple found me, half-dead from malnutrition after living off scraps and dodging police, and took me in. They'd recently lost their ten year old child to cancer and hadn't yet moved on. I quickly learned (as I always had) how to live socially with others and soon became an integral part of their life. But whenever they looked at me I couldn't help feel they were still using me as a surrogate for their lost child. They enrolled me in a school and I left with slightly better than average grades so as not to arouse too much suspicion from the governments.

I moved out at 17, though I still keep in touch with my 'parents'. To this day I hold a semblance of a normal life. I go through the motions, talk to people, make small talk, even form relationships with ladies here and there but they never stick. I can't forget what I am, what I was made to be. There's nothing I can do to change my destiny and like it or not, one day they will find me.

As for the Escapist, I came for Zero Punctuation and stayed for the forums.

I suggest you edit this. You wouldn't want to be found by someone googling your backstory.

I was bought here with a link to Zero Punctuation from VGCats. After lurking for a while I decided to join because of a rash of youth-bashing threads (anyone who kept up with my earlier posts would know my attitude on the subject). Now I'm just some random anime fan who latches onto NeutralDrow too much and posts a good bit (but not anywhere near Max levels) on the weekend.

OP: I think that Mr Croshaw is a very big reason behind as many people being here as there is now.

I came here often to watch Zero Punctuation, Unskippable, and Doomsday Arcade. Eventually, I decided to create my own account.

Also, since you are new here I will give you the Official Escapist Greeting.

Well yes, I watched ZP first. But I wasn't going to register if it wasn't for the "say something bad about a game you liked" topic. Far too original an idea for me to skip, kudos! :)

I came to find the man who murdered my brother... but seriously, found Unforgotten realms, came here, seemed a solid place, decided to insert myself into the community.
