Now, for those of you who don't know, a tag is a little symbol you draw or paint on a building, bathroom wall, stop sign etc to let people know that you have been there.
...And is s moronic action - it also costs the taxpayer.

It's certainly up there when you think about the concept.

Your defacing other peoples property with a sign nobody bar yourself knows nor cares about (words are different) and costs the country a huge amount of money to get rid off. For no reason...pretty moronic.

Mmm... I suppose in concept.although when you think of the origins of tagging, it used to be culturally relevant (not saying it is now though). If Im not mistaken it was used to identify stops on the "underground railroad" as well as hobo signs. But again, I could be horribly mistaken. also, depending on the material, it could be as cheap as a little soap and water or white out. but the purpose of this thread was to make tags known so that we may see them and if we notice one from a fellow escapist and have a smile knowing that one of our own have been where we have.

My tag is my name, in urine. In urinals. Then it gets flushed. I was here! ...Now I wasn't. Fuck yeah.

Graffiti looks really tacky and automatically makes the area look poor and full of crime.

It's illegal when it's graffiti. Not always so when it's street art.

For example this building in Queens, NYC: the outside of Crane Street Studios.

My subway passes by it everyday. It's always fascinated me. And it's obviously legal and legitimate; it is after all an art studio.

I understand that YOU will buy that soap or white out and YOU will clean them?

No? Why? It's fun ruining the visual side of your town! And it completely doesn't harm anyone.

Except for people that wasted hundreds of dollars painting buildings, just for some stupid kids with too much time (*waves*) are bored.

I have nothing against it when someone PAYS for it, as in professional grafitti artists and they get a lot of money for doing a good job. Because otherwise, it just sucks.

Also, I know who will get banned soon.

Same. Came to say how mines the Escapist one :).
Didn't expect to see peoples raw arses bent over. If I wasn't trained for such internet events I could be in tears.

I like when people graffiti positive/thought provoking messages, or when it looks awesome or artistic in some way, but I never actually do it myself.

Mostly because I'd be afraid of getting caught, oh and there's the whole 'I can't draw for shit' thing.

Is'nt graffiti illegal?
You can obtain permits to tag places.
I see. It's just I've always seen it as "Glamorization of Crime" or whatever.

EDIT: I just scrolled up. *Calls for a moderator*
