when they stopped 2000% better quality than the actual game and it was shithard to get to them, made harder by the lack of them. i loved watching them in the old Final Fantasy games because they looked so epic compared to the gameplay, plus they were like at the end of a long mission chapter or the start of a new one. my favourite has to be when i first met Irvine in FFVIII because the scenery is so good. it was in a cracked.com article two days ago.
