You can't get a true test of your abilities until you play against real opponents.

So clearly the OP is really bad at whatever game, and instead of trying to get better and beat the opponents he would rather run away and hide.

It isn't that PvP is better, its just that you can tell a lot about someones personality through how they play games. It isn't bad to not enjoy fighting real people, but it isn't good either.

Here's a tip: Next time you look for a guild in any game, go for the ones who state that they are mature and/or casual. Those are by far the best guilds in my experience. Depending on your definition of a good guild, of course. My main prioritites are politeness, as little drama as possible and helpfulness. You know, all the things a guild ought to be about.

When I played WoW pvp, I found it pretty good. Honestly if you play carefully enough you can compete against the better geared players. I think the gear difference probably appplies to WoW a lot more than most other games.

When I got better at the game, I rolled a warrior and when it reached level cap I got a geared healer friend (ok, it was 2 healers...) to play with me and I was topping damage in blue/green gear.

I don't really like BGs due to this reason though. Most people are terrible (geared or not) so I stick to arenas where my input matters more, compared to BGs where even if I do really well I will still lose because people decide to ignore the objectives completely and would rather die all the time.

Also, WoW is a PvE game. Cataclysm had good PvP at first (if you didn't play a hunter) but seriously it just didn't get better and since I stopped doing PvE when cataclysm came out I just quit.

"Shut up PvP guy."
