Oh god... I seriously don't remember whether Karate Fighter on C64 even had a jump move, but I certainly didn't use it.
Other than that, the first VG jump I really know of was in the old NES Castlevania (don't ask me which one), about '88/'89-ish, me being seven or eight. Some kind of family party at a friend's, and she (yay girl gamers) had Mario Golf, Castlevania and frickin' Ice Climbers! I was soooooooo close to peeing in my pants, rather than leave that marvellous toy alone...

Ummm, I think it was the addams family game on a commodore 64 in '94, or something like that

Donkey Kong Jr. on the Coleco back in the 80s. I can't recall any arcade games that I jumped in back then. There must have been some though.

Either the second Sonic game or a dos-based Prince of Persia game. I can't remember which one was first or even if it was an actual Prince of Persia game. Just about the only thing I can remember is that you started without a weapon and if you headed to the right at the start you got stuck in a fight, which if you didn't go and get the sword first would result in game over 5 seconds into the game.
