When is gaming 'Retro'?

Retro is when your dad says "Oh i remember playing this game when i was your age"

Wow, that'd make no games retro whatsoever as my dad has never played any.

A bit sarcastic, i generally meant that Retro to me is when my Dad/Grandfather/Mother/Grandmother say something along those lines. The male side of my family dabbles in video games so when i hear my dad talking about how he was the first in the neighborhood to beat Mario for the SNES then I'd consider it Retro.

I'd say that Playstation will become retro when the PS4 is near to release.
Theres no reasoning behind it except that by then, the PS will be 3 generations behind in console terms so it makes it all pretty retro.


Of course, everything is retro, cause everything that has happened is retro-spective.
