I mostly agree, but I still think Mega Man 9 is the shining example of how to continue an IP. These new-fangled megamans, not so much (though I've heard X6 was pretty good, I'm not at all interested in finding out). There were a lot of flops in the series, and some good games as well, but even though he's been around about as long as Mario, I still don't feel quite the same as I do with mario, mostly because of the fact that the games I've played never became 20 hour adventures, instead they remained at 2 hours or less to play through and always felt like when they got it right, it was RIGHT.Grimm91 said:After over 15 years the blue bomber is still alive! I really wish that Capcom will lay the poor soul to rest. Yet every few years here comes the zombiefyed corpse of Dr.Lights perfect creation. For the love of God Capcom put a bullet in his head already!
Now stop with this foolishness-Seraph- said:Like all good selling franchises there is no reason to end something if it makes money and is still quite popular. This can be applied to games, books, movies, ect.. it doesn't matter. If it continues to draw new players in and entertain many there is no reason why it should end. The veteran players are simply being selfish the way i see it, just because it seems old and stale for them. They overlook the fact that in this industry you must draw in new players of all ages and of the sort. Yes some franchises should end before they over due it but others are simply too versatile that they can keep making more. Once something stops making money THEN there is no reason to continue it unless you practically reinvent it. I am really getting sick of people complaining about long and well established franchises just because they "grew out of them" while others still enjoy and it continues to bring in to fans.
How about instead of making threads that refer to similar threads you've created you just make one thread? maybe something along the lines of :"game franchises past their prime" but that one would beg flaming to use the search button.Grimm91 said:Read my other forum "Is Mario done for."
Then I don't see why. I mean as long as the games are quality then it shouldn't matter if they make so many games with him. It's not like you can exhaust him from putting him into to many games. Other characters like Sonic who's games have been lackluster diverse to be laid to rest.Grimm91 said:Yeah and I have beaten the original 9. I do too but please lay him to rest.darktheif28 said:Hey..
