When you were young as a child, what did your parents lie to you about stuff they didn't want you to know yet in a ridiculous way?

Like, mine lying to me that after adults kissed after their marriage they would have babies. This led me not to kiss anyone(related people) anywhere(like on the cheek) in my entire childhood. Like my mum is leaving for another country on a business trip and i'm always the one not giving her a kiss on her cheek as a goodbye at the airport.

So, what's yours?

The only thing I can think of is Santa Claus and the Easter bunny.

The typical stuff, like Santa, and such. Really, my parents didn't lie about many things. I didn't ask until I had a basic idea of what it was I was asking, so generally my parents thought I was ready for an honest answer. Other things I was about to figure out myself through observation and deduction.

Uh...don't really have one. My parents, when they didn't want to tell me something, just wouldn't tell me.

Come to think of it, my parents have never lied to me about anything. I read a book about the digestive/respiratory/reproductive systems when I was 6, and I asked my mum what 'when a male and a female unite' meant. She didn't lie about it. And I caught my dad putting presents under the tree, so he couldn't lie about that. Growing up, my family wasn't religious at all, so they didn't feed me any crap about that either.

One Christmas, my Mum went to the door and retrieved the bike she'd planted there earlier, shouting 'bye, Santa!' as I ran over to meet him. It made me /sadface...

Santa I guess.
...Santy? :(

I never thought that elavators moved up and down. I used to think that when I went inside, somebody would rearrange the room for my amusement.
Also, I used to be scared of wasps... so my dad told me they were just flys with football jerseys.

I used to live in a tower block, and if I was a little shit my dad would stand in the way of the elevator door as if it would crush him. Of course, that scared the fuck out of me so I behaved.

Fuckin' elevators.

I once asked my dad why my pee pee sometimes got hard because it hurt and bothered me. He told me it was a cramp and not too worry. Please don't circumcise your kids.
