It has happened to me on a couple of occasions, which is a real shame because i thought i had thought up an interesting discussion point at the time.

Never happened to me, but thats because I only make a topic when I have an intelligent discussion point or issue to talk about.

Yeah, that happened once. Than I complained and people posted on it.
The lesson is simple kids, ***** and moan until you get what you want.

Also, may I direct everyone's attention to my supah cool 10,000 views badge. Yeah, I have never had any of those problems.

I've only ever made two threads, they were both responded to.
I think that's the reason I don't really like making threads.
I have a fear of rejection and I get scared that it'll just be ignored then I'll think everyone hates me and I'll get all reclusive and stuff.

I've posted a few threads that got very limited response, and one sunk without comment. Try to post late at night so the maximum number of people have time to see it before the evening rush comes on. (I presume most escapist users are on in the evenings *massive assumption*.) Even then, your post may sink simply because no one was that interested. It can be frustrating, particularly with reviews.

How ironic would it be if this got no replies?

OT: yeah a few of mine have dived before, such is the way of the world.

My worse was a Railroads! review.
My best was probably the "You are alone... and Immortal" thread

Reviews never get to many replies. I learned that in the exact way you did.

I had that with a couple of my posts too yeah, especially the ones that were more serious and for which I did some research to back up my statements. I don't mind though. The lack of replies sometimes tells me enough.

Here is my favorite silent thread (one that I did not create or did not partake in): Psychiatry and Psychology [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.78984]
