We talk about the moments in tv/film/games where people just seem to pull things out of thier asses.

In Outlaw Star, Gene Starwind seems to pull at least 5 rocket launchers out of his ass in the first 20 episodes.

Ash from Army of Darkness is thrown into 'the Pit' to fight the demonic zombies within. He is unarmed and yet is given back his chainsaw before finally making his escape. Suddenly and out of nowhere he fires off a round from his shotgun. A shotgun that just appears miraculously in his hand.

This continuity error is actually mentioned in 'My Name is Bruce' so clearly even the filmmakers and actors themselves had no idea how Ash got his shotgun.

In Arkham Asylum, Batman just pulls that frequency device that blows up fuse boxes literally out of his ass, and it's never explained why he didn't use it before, despite having had it the entire time.

Anything Batman ever uses. Except that his ass is his utility belt.

I get the bat-capsules and maybe the thin little bat-rope. But where the hell does he keep the giant grappling gun when he isn't using it?

At least Rico Rodriguez had his clearly strapped to his arm.

Edit: I got firsted on Batman while I was posting on Batman. Damn Internet.

Any game with an inventory system really.... but the best is Twilight Princess. The iron boots only slow you down when you wear them, and that giant spiky ball becomes weightless when you put it in your pocket! Where can I get such a weapon?

I think the more important question is: Where can I get such a pocket?

I got one from the last Indiana Jones movie:
during the car chase scene in the jungle, one of the people gets launched on to the hood of one of the jeeps, grabs the mounted machine gun and cut the front window of with a line of bullets. in the next shot only a chunk of the upper corner of the window is gone, then in the window is intact, and in the one after that the window is destroyed again.

Its the Magical Jesus Window! All praise it's rejuvenating powers!

It's like those Bags of Holding in D&D. The bags themselves weigh next to nothing, but you can easily fit a fully-loaded cart and horse inside one.

All they ever have to do in some of these games is mention that they have some form of "hammerspace" bag. Or pocket lining. =P

In the anime/manga/OVA Hellsing, the vampire Alucard has pistol-mags containing almost 1 million rounds, and he only reloads when it looks cool.

This is a hard one...

Well, every time I play halo. Seems that each and every player on the opposite team is always equipped with a shotgun.
They also magically conjure up plasma grenades. Three for each soldier! Yay!

I think he only got the codes to use it about halfway through the game.

As for my example, I'm saying a gun that Jack Harkness pulls when he's naked in the Doctor Who episode "Bad Wolf". It's lampshaded by the fact that it's a small gun, and he was actually storing the gun up his ass.

Also, I've been spending too much time on TV tropes.

I remember that episode. I just want to know why he's had the prior experiance to keep one there in the first place.
