Where did they go?

I'm sure this thread has probably been done many times before, but I'm reviving it: are there any game series that you enjoyed, and thought were doing well, then just vanished without a trace? One rule: The series must have more than one game in it (hence the description "series").

My votes go out to Lost Kingdoms and Oddworld. Oddworld technically didn't go without a trace, the company just said they wanted to try making movies instead. That's fine, but WHRE THE HELL ARE THE MOVIES? And Lost Kingdoms... where did it go? It truly seems to be lost now...

One that I was thinking was Ogre Battle, but I've been hearing many rumors that they might b bringing out a new one on the Wii. I'd be satisfied with Ogre Battle 64 on the Shop Channel.

Star Wars: Republic Commando violated George Lucas's rules of not being 1. Stupid 2. Kiddy and 3. Having a hackneyed romance in it.

Which is too bad, cause I always wanted to see the sequel.

Worms and Lemmings. Just because 3D graphics beat your desigs doesn't mean you have to stop - just keep making 2D games!

Urban Reign. Where's my sequel, Namco? Personally, I don't see why it didn't sell. It took Tekken-style punching and kicking, supported it with a rock-solid and original combat engine, added some of the best multiple enemy combat around, and even threw in some excellent graphics. I'd love to see what a next-gen system could do with a game like Urban Reign.

Viewtiful Joe also dropped of the face of the earth after the destruction of Clover studios. I guess we'll never get to see the thrilling conclusion... Capcom still have the rights, but I shudder at the thought of a VJ game without the Clover team at the helm.

Also, no sequel for God Hand. Yep, it's been confirmed, at least for now... My heart breaks...

As much as I'd like to see more Worms games, without introducing more dynamic landscape, anti gravity, or "cutscene" style fatalities instead of just slo-mo there isn't anywhere to go with the 2D games. Actually, all of those sound good, GIMME.

Another ditto for Commander Keen, though unlike some, I wouldn't demand sidescrolling as long as the 3d platforming was competent. Maybe it would be possible to expand the repertoire beyond just the pogo stick to things like a hangglider.

Dungeon Keeper (I know EA were the ones who essentially cancelled it but there was no reason as to why) & Cannon Fodder.

I agree it'd be nice to see Commander Keen done again but after what's been done to Golden Axe I can happily say no thanks.

If we got a new Commander Keen, it would feature an older hard bitten veteran of galactic warfare in a new dark and gritter adventure against ravenous immortal mushrooms and devilish giant fish.

It would feature lots of brown and grey environments and the slugs would explode into lots of little giblets and your gun would eviscerate instead of stunning.

I would love a new Commander Keen though, but only for the PC. And it would have to be a psychotropic exploration through the delirious mind of a comatose veteran as he lies gasping his last in a med tent bed...

It would be awesome.

I also second Republic Commando sequel. That was a damn fine game except for the ending which was abrupt and silly.

It was one of the greatest turn based rpg's, all Camelot need to do is make a new one or make a remake for consoles with next gen graphics and it'll be hailed as game of the decade.
