I buy my games from a place called Megaswap. They have good prices and they take used games, but the guy behind the counter is a bit intimidating.

I use a dutch site (marktplaats), where people sell their stuff.
It's not an auction site btw. When I buy something new,
my local gameshop (Gamemania) usually sells collector's edition's for the
same price as the normal. They also have the whole points system, you save
up around 3 bucks per purchase.

Depends, though for games I usually go to Play 'n Trade. When I am at a place like Walmart or Target I might find some good games.

Game/Gamestation depends if it's cheaper or less crowded.
They are run by the same company...
...and that's why it's very annoying that GAME has a loyalty card and 10% student discount, while Gamestation doesn't.

Where I buy games depends entirely on which bus is the first to arrive when I leave the house: one takes me to a place where there's only Gamestation; the other takes me to a shopping centre that has GAME, Gamestation and HMV. Failing that, I'll stay at home and download it from either Steam or, more likely, GamersGate.

I'm a straight up Gamestop and Steam user. Seriously, I pop into Gamestops just to talk sometimes. Hell, some of the clerks know my name the minute they see me. It's sad but it is true.

Just wherever I can get the best deals. Thanks cheapassgamer!

Also, steam. But I don't play half of what I buy there...just...so many sales...

edit

Fuck, I just checked the steam store and spent 5 bucks on Mount & Blade. Anyone played it?

I usually go for Steam or Amazon, mainly because they've nearly always got some sort of sale on.

Since I'm in Australia...

For PC games:

-CDWOW.com.au
-Steam
-eBay

For 360 games

Imported:

- The UK since they're PAL as well - ie. zavvi, thehut, sendit, 365games
- Occasionally Play-asia for some region free stuff, they sometimes have decent weekly sales.
- eBay

Or locally there's:

- JB Hi-Fi when they have a decent trade 3 get one free promotion.
- Occasionally GAME when they have good online sales with free shipping.
- Sometimes EB Games with price matching for a game I think will be good but want to have the 7 day return safety on in case it sucks.

I got sick of paying AU$90-110 for a new game that may or may not be good a long time ago! Previews and reviews help sometimes but not always.

Well, for brand new games I want to get on release day I usually use Amazon, because those guys haven't let me down once; however, where I live a lot of the more brutal games get censored or prematurely banned, at which point I order from GamesOnly, an Austrian shop for uncut games.

As for handheld games and stuff that doesn't tickle me enough to get on release day, I usually wait about half a year or so and then go the second-hand route, either via eBay or my personal favorite second-hand games shop back home... I'm practically family for those guys by now. ^^
