ahhhhh online games, play with friends, shoot up people, prove your skill against he world. what a fine and wonderful world the online community is. *wakes up five hours later* "i need to stop sniffing paint." The Online world is notorious for trolls, raceisem, and so much more. and this all fits in with online games as well. lets take some games like COD4 for instance. where does our hate for others seem to stem from. il start with the public enemy of all online games. squeakers. the kid's whose voice anint want we want it to be so we pretty much trash him. i never got the reasons behind it. we all hear the jokes "drop your balls" at least once in an online game and still it seems to be funny to them. even though the are not much older then 15. so what makes kids attack kids? then there are the eletists. those people you see with an E pen longer the the golden gate bridge. i dont have to explain there type. we all see them from time to time. there are so many forms of hate yet i really never get why? cant we all just chill a little bit. Mute the kids, calm down with how lete you are. and cant we all get along........im still probably high from that paint.

So to sum of the wall of text, why do we hate each other, where the the kids learn to hate the other kids? why must we prove ourselves to people we never meet and shall never see. and why do we treat girls like some sort of damned gods!....well thats it? what do you all believe.

Gods? Hah. Girls get treated either like something to hit on or something to berate. Me and my friend either get called bitches and told to stay in the kitchen, or are hit on.

My hate comes from experience. I have become quite cold to many though, such as griefers as I made a point of to someone I used to respect here. For young gamers, its their prickness. I can stand a kid who isnt a pain, and will back them if they are getting harassed when they shouldnt, but little snot nozes should have their internet removed.

The fact they can get away with anything online without any ramifications against them like being punched, stabbed, shot or all round being harmed is pretty much why they do it. When people go online, they all seem to change into some kid who has to scream at you, basically be a twat and make enemies. It's annoying, yes, but it's all part of online play. I think that also where the hate comes from. People annoy other people, those guys get annoyed and therefore the hate is born.

The proving part is just basically virtual cock waving, really.

No idea on the girl front, though...

EDIT: Improved post quality.

hate spawns from your survival instincts

I don't really hate anyone.
About the kid thing, I see people getting really angry at kids with squeaky voices when I just find it funny...
And people are often nice to girls BECAUSE they are girls, simple really =P

It's just part of being human. If there is something you don't like, you usually hate it and the people that like it.

I don't.

What? It's bad to insult squeakers? I insult them because they say things that are

a) unneccessary
b) stupid
and c) annoying.

If they were actually civil for once I'd be nice to them.

Getting all sciency, I'd say hate comes from an inbuilt desire to see other people fail so that our offspring don't have the competition.

In a bleak nutshell, we hate people because we're living on a lonely little rock hanging in space with limited resources and near unlimited demand for them. Therefore, we dislike others because they're taking resources we could use instead of them.

And so, hate.

"The internet is so full of hatred. Go to any chatroom; 'I hope you die, you need to die, go fuck yourself, raaaargh'. Have people always been this angry?"

"I've got this really funny idea that before the internet, people were just writing 'Fuck you!' and attaching it to pigeons. 'Phew, I feel better!' - or in the lexicon of the day, 'You sir are a braggard and a nincompoop!'

Hate stems from Ignorance, ignorance from personal pride, and pride, selfishness of the ego.
Greed is the Root of all evil.
"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and [Worldly Greed]."
Matthew 6:24

Hate? Hate comes from something that has yet to happen, but is so devastating that it reflects back through the eons. That or it's the deformed arm of 'competitiveness'.

Jesus Christo! I absolutely hated being treated like some princess the instant everyone heard my voice. And the fact I was actually kicking thier ass didn't help much either.

As a female gamer myself, I know from experience we do not get treated like Gods. we get trashed and disrespected just because we are female. It is all just a sexist way to make up for having a girl kick your ass.
I don't hate many people, and I am hated by many. In a game, I am always the one to help out the noob while everyone else takes him down. I've actually never heard someone with a squeaky voice online. I have, on the other hand, seen people make fun of someone for their accent or "feminine" lithe. I just ignore it and take down the losers that are making fun of him while they're distracted. (as you can see, I really only play death match games)

You gotta change the title, cause I keep laughing at all the inappropiate answers my mind comes up with.

I don't play online, so I really have no answer.Although I'd imagine the young'uns are much worse online than they are in real life, so most of the hate is probably deserved.

Hate can come from anything. (I want the sniper, noooo your gamertag is stupid) and while we'd let it go IRL, in a game we are set free from the personally telling them. So they get loud and angry and swear. Because they can

Anonymity my friend. Without the constraints of having to deal with the consequences of one's actions, people on the internet do whatever the hell they feel like and people often feel like yelling something stupid. This stems from the need to bottle this up during normal life due to a lack on anonymity but online, one can express all the racist sexist hate and bullcrap that they keep inside all day.

About the elitists, its human nature to want to be the best and on the internet that often becomes a giant pissing contest with a bunch of random dudes. Everyone is competitive and tries to win even though it doesn't really matter. The internet is just the vehicle for their competition.

As for girls, well there is a small number of girls as compared to guys on the internet/in geek culutre. So it's rare to see one on the internet and thus they garnish special attention.

suprisingly enough, not halo. although they try to get me stoked, I just mute them before it even starts and give them the whole "Call me gay now, chickenhead." rundown.
