Escapist is my internet home!
I tried joining other forums...but nothing compares to the Escapist.
Great MODs, great content, great community.

I'll probably be sticking around for quite a while.

And yes, I totally voted for them in the Webby Awards!

Well...you don't like me (Leafs Fan) and I don't like you.
But, there is one thing we can agree on: That the Senators can burn in hell!

I already voted... despite my work CPU really hating the coding on the Webby site.

Still, GO ESCAPIST!

*Paints face blue and white and acts like an idiot... gets clubbed in the street because people mistake him for a Canucks fan*
Haha, I already voted too, and if I saw you, I would probably club you.

Damn Canucks fan.

Take that, Escapist.
Ouch, that really hurt. So much so infact I'm going to cut myself as deep as that hurt my feelings.*peels of a flake of dead skin with a fingernail* There, are you happy now?
That seems rather rude, I live near Vancouver and the Nucks are my second favourite team, but whatever the team, the fans are annoying as hell.

I voted. I don't consider this my internet home, though. I like to think that if I live on the internet, I'm at least some kind of nomadic, hobo mastermind. See, after my misplaced rant I quit the escapist for a while, checking in maybe once a week to watch the shows I enjoy. It was after that when I realized I didn't need the internet home. I sure like the escapist, and I certainly couldn't have battles like this battle I had with Max [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.108537?page=2] anywhere else.

Its my forum, I'll give it that much. But its not a home enough for me to figure out how to get IRC up and running and become one of those people. Its not home enough for me to invest in 5 RP campaigns so that all of my free time consists of keeping track of my 5 characters' backstories. Its not home enough so that I can take the initiative to organize a get-together from people all across my country to assemble and have a great fucking time.
It is however, enough of a home for me to do this stupid deal with white text after every post

My internet 'home' used to be the escapist but I now find the community far too large and anything I post is instantly swept aside under a large influx of OMG ZERO PUNCUTATIONS IS ARE GREET!
Now I mostly post on MadnessCombat.net (please do not go there and invade my house.)
And as you can see I still do come here occasionally.

Also hi newclassic long time no... reply to a thread you started.

uh Kratos?....awesome as that would be, chances are you'd be dead after the first cut.
i think having byakuya from bleach would be way better.

My home is the Guild Wars Wiki, sorta.

I hope the escapist might become a "home", it sure as hell is active enough and it didn't take me long to gain 250 posts without spamming so, that's a good sign.

Internet's not my home, more like a social lounge with Skype being the main room with doors to everything else.

Though I could say that it was a home in the past, when I was a teenager. Used to spend a lot of time on an RPG forum called Realms.ru, which is dead, unfortunately. The community there was awesome.

I noticed that myself, this place is like a neighborhood pub that suddenly hit it big and all the regulars left.

It's all well and good for the owners... but it just doesn't feel like the same place anymore.

I definitely think of The Escapist as my online home. And yes, I already voted for the Escapist. We're in the lead! I've got my fingers crossed....

Not my "internet home", but it's a good place to visit when you have a spare minute. There's always at least one interesting news story or discussion thread around when I check it out.

Also, voted, even though it was a damn hassle. It needed registration, took ages to load and was hard to navigate... But I did it for you!!!

This is my internet home, all my other activities on the internet are merely excursions away from home, and I signed up for the webbys just to vote for the escapist.

When it comes to games, it's like when I drink alcohol; I drink seldom, but when I do, I dring myself back to the dark ages.

What I'm trying to say is, I spend more time lurking on The Escapist than I do playing games. I'm hoping all the general gaming knowledge I've gained here will help me tomorrow when I've got an interview at Tilt, (one of) Finlands largest gamesretailer.

I would've voted for Escapist too, if the site had let me. *shakes fist*

If I were typing this a few months ago I would have said this was my home and voted in a heartbeat. But I've been slowly drifting away, not just from here but most websites I used to visit. Now when I'm on the internet I'm usually just clicking through random Youtube videos looking for something interesting, or on the Capcom forums.

If I had to chose an "Internet Home" I would lean closer to the Capcom forums than here.

But I'm totally rooting for the Escapist I'm just too lazy to sign up for an account that I will use only ever use once and forget about after ~30 seconds.

Something about this thread has made me very sad, though I'm not entirely sure as to what specifically. It may be something to do with the have-nots posting that they're here to ensure that everyone knows that they aren't voting. In and of itself, it's an impolite response to me openly asking for a vote. Not even commanding, just asking. Though I appreciate everyone who is not voting for the right reasons. There's something marvelously warming by the honesty. Without a doubt, even the polite nay-sayers are part of the reason I blather so incessantly about this site's endless positives. Though I gladly acknowledge the site's faults as well. It's a give and take that I honestly feel very strongly about, and it's likable while being perfect. Though to give credit where it is so unquestionably due, I feel like this thread has gotten a very positive response, enthusiastically so.

So I'd like to thank everyone for their responses so far. It's folks like you that make me want to spend more time here, and do even more than staple the label "home" to this place.

Bother the rest of the sap, I'd like to blather a bit to myself on the topic of humanity. Never before have I seen such an open and apparent unchecked statement on human nature than in this thread. For all the praise I give the folks who give good answers, even if they declined matrimonially tying themselves to the Escapist with their vote, I offer polite inquiries as to the folks who said "No vote" to do so by expanding - proposing, if you will - what could be done to make the site better. Or hell, just a good reason why.
