Where should Rockstar go next?

New York, the wild west, and now 1940's LA; all of these areas (plus a couple of others in the GTA franchise) are places that Rockstar Games has and will set its amazing repertoire of games. I can't help but feel that a couple areas in America are the limits to where Rockstar can go, there is just so much potential in the places that another GTA (or completely new game) could be set in.

So, my fellow Escapists, where should the next great Rockstar game be set in (time period, location) and what should the game be about?

Also, as a side question, in what accent do you want the main character to announce that he has a mysterious, dark past? :p

I'd love to play a Rockstar game set in the 1960's. Maybe a Civil Rights plot, or an alien conspiracy or something. I guess it's not too far removed from settings they've already explored, but as fun as they make being drunk in GTAIV and RDR, imagine what they'd come up with for the numerous mind-altering drugs you could get everywhere in the 60's.

Oh, and as far as accents go, I'd like to play as a typical Rockstar badass with the most whitebread, suburban, Flanders-style voice ever.

A pirate game would be great, but I think that they should make a zombie game where you are in a city as big as liberty city, and the zombies are shoulder to shoulder in the streets - that is, should to shoulder in the WHOLE city! That would be beeeeeeast.

I really want to see a GTA game set in a fictional version of Detroit. Especially if it includes a little bit of Canada in the game.

Think about it: GTA: Motor City.

Am I the only one that thinks that far far into the future would be good (year 2645) would be about nice just far enough so we can use Giant mechs to beat up robo alien hookers.

They should get with the times and stop making me hold X to run. Also, I don't want to feel like a tank.

Story wise? I think it'd be cool to play as the Law, maybe a crooked cop in their universe. I'm tired of playing as a villain, drug dealing, killing for money, etc. Mix it up and make me play the other side (maybe even the bad cop..).

No, only joking, I agree with pirates.
Perhaps with M&B:W's melee systems? Could go for interesting duels...
Those are both what I'd like to see. A future GTA has so many epic possibilities for shootouts, chases, you name it. The humor they could tie in would also have a cornicopia of inspiration from tons of references.

A pirates game could encompass great humor as well, along with some unique gameplay that could actually make it one of, if not the first good pirate game. I would truly love a good pirate experience. The Pirate's Cove DLC for Oblivion really made me want to play a pirate with lots of pirate options. :(

How about Mexico or East Europe?

Don't even get me started with Russia.
