And why does nobody really seem to care, unless it's specifically making established characters black? This is such an amazingly big deal because " family dynamic," but they whitewashed entire districts in one of the biggest movies of 2013, and almost nobody cared. It's almost like this isn't really about changing things up being bad, so much as making characters black is bad, but that can't be it.

The whole threat is one of those things which is over-blown. At worst, it comes across when someone like Gary Oldman says something ill-considered and some folks act like he's the worst thing ever... but even then a decent apology will gloss over the incident pretty quickly.

While I think the girl could have pulled the initial punch more, something more along the lines of "dude, I'm 16", the guy in question seems to be a 0-60 kind of fellow who naturally gets all offended that she didn't say "thanks".

These kinds of things tend to involve two people who are spoiling for a fight. It's like that friend we all had who was constantly getting into fights. Said fights were never his fault... and you knew what a load of shit that was.

Yeah, it creeped me out. Google "southwestdaddy tumblr" and you should wuickly find the images. Assuming they weren't shopped he was posting pictures of young girls among more sexual fare. Nothing hardcore but the effect was seriously creepy to me.

I'm of the opinion that anyone arguing politics on Tumblr is by definition an asshole. It's worse than Twitter for having any kind of discussion as its not really set up to encourage any kind of verbal communication. If someone has ever responded to one of my pictured, I doubt I'll ever know because its lost in all the notes about who liked and reblogged my stuff.

And in the Asshole Olympics I don't wish to pick a side. I had both these groups pegged as assholes at about the fifth post. Further googling seems to indicate his supporters harassed her off of Tumblr, too. So no shortage of assholes on this one.

Karadalis likely just pulled the picture blindly off of r/tumblrinaction without checking to realize that the story was bigger than just that picture, not the first time that subreddit has taken out of context posts at face value, there's also a few posters there that seem to constantly fall for blatant troll blogs as well.


like was already said, this guy had a really questionable Tumblr with lots of pictures of young girls in skimpy clothing, and while that doesn't excuse rampant doxxing and harassment without any hard evidence, it is very very unlikely the guy was just complimenting a pair of pants, his Tumblr was full of pictures of young girls he was calling sexy or cutie. It's one of those situations where nobody was really totally in the right and it spiralled into a shitstorm of stupidity. Also, as Netrigan said, his supporters harassed her off Tumblr as well, so apparently their both gone now, unfortunately stupid overreactions don't just belong to one group or another, it seems to get spread around in any group large enough.
