So when china had to put down the Tibet Riot everybody got all up in arms against china making us the biggest villains last year, so now Thai troops are blasting protesters on the street with M-16 and theres no world wide protest or anger? This is hypocrisy on the highest order

What Max said. Besides we have been protesting this for god knows how long. They don't seem to give a damn and no govt will be dammed to put sanctions on thailand, take a look at the bottom of your coffee mug or back of a toy and you'll see what I mean.

Everyone complained when China did it, then they got plain used to it.
nope, i distinctly remember everyone shutting up about China straight after the earthquake struck... that situation in Tibet was never really resolved, just forgotten cause everyone went from hating China to synpathising with China

So you think that the fact that people are being killed in Thailand makes Chineese goverment any less of a band of criminals?

Moron.
I can say the same for Bush and the Iraq War,and lets not forget the people voted him into office a second time

I'm not American and I didn't vote for Bush. Why do you force that "Hey look, we're not the only bad guys!" philosophy on us? You know that there are goverments in the world that don't kill people, right?

Yes, the true victim here is obviously China's brutal dictatorial communist regime.
Since when did China became a dictatorship? If so, who's the dictator of China right now?

The point is, get your facts right, people

Sure, It's not a proper dictatorship like in Mao's time, but the Communist party still has a stranglehold on the country and the peoples freedoms.
It's a one party system and the people can't vote, and since you asked, the Communist party is the dictator.

FFS, governments are not a singular entity. Governments are made up of people. Not everyone in every government is there to kill people or to give orders to kill people. Don't put a blanket generalization on all government people. You're as bad as the next conspiracy theorist (only with a lot less credibility).

Quit being obtuse. I don't like what's going on in Thailand any more than most people, but there isn't a whole lot we can do. Since the protests are throwing Molotov cocktails at troops mostly in the GOVERNMENT section of Bangkok, and nowhere near the other parts of the city (like the parts where tourists or business is conducted). Had there been some sort of attempt to have a PEACEFUL protest conducted across the city, maybe more of the world would have been outraged.

Hit the nail on the head.

And fact of the matter is, the Olympics were in China; the worlds Media outlets were honed in on Chinese "goings on", Tibetan conflict and inevitabley human rights policy. The media is a powerful and confused entity.

People are currently more worried about counting their dollars than the bodies, as sad as it is.

McClaud, you are right to some degree. The PM allowed the protest to go ahead despite fears from the political and business communities. The protest began peacefully then got ugly later in the day, by the few tossers that couldn't keep their lid on. Things got ugly and the Thaiwanese went all "Viva la Revolution" on their asses. The protesters may of incited the violence but it doesn't excuse the government from such a brutal retaliation.
