Ok, so i have been out of the anime loop for years. I used to be an avid follower of mainstream anime/manga, but compared to some the amazing TV of recent years it just seemed pale and immature by comparison. So i quit.

Lately though i've had this tiny notion to watch some again and want to know what would be best?

Preferably something with big boobs and magic....maybe even magically enhanced boobs?

I'm not an anime watcher myself, but there's one anime show that I really really like.

And that's Death Note. Sorry, no magic boobs there, but if you want a fairly good story, watch it.

You said what I was going to say! Yeah no other anime that I have watched has come close to Death Note in terms of depth and story. If you want violence then the Ninja Scroll TV Series (based on the movie that I have not watched) is great yet twisted, with boobs.

Personally I would recommend Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood,
though if it's boobs you want try Ikkitousen.
The story is interesting, exploring the consequences of characters knowing their own fate as they relive the 3 kingdoms era of chinese history in modern day japan against the backdrop of street fights between rival high schools. And the fight scenes in the later series are nothing short of awesome, producing some of the highest quality animation I've seen in a series. The characters are also very interesting and do a lot to stay away from cliche roles. And of course the fanservice; at first they seemed to cram it in everywhere they could but after the first series it becomes more of a bonus to the spicy fight scenes, aside from the occasional high kick revealing the characters underwear to the world or shower scene.
The fist series is pretty arse in terms of animation but it's worth sticking with the series purely for the sequels series Dragon Destiny and the currently two series which proceed that.
Only the first and second series (dragon destiny) have been dubbed so far, but I advise against them. While I usually go with the dub of shows, purely to make it easier to follow whats on screen, the Ikkitousen dub is just bad. The voices seem to fit the characters but they sound like a nervous child reading an essay before their entire school in their underwear, and the essay is written on the back of a napkin. Judge for yourself by listening to both versions, but personally I don't think there is any shame in putting some cultural distance between you and the story.

Here are some others I would recommend:
*Death Note - More story based and damn entertaining.
*Fairy Tale - It's good in a cheesy 90s kind of way.
*Soul Eater - A lot of fun to watch.
*Sekirei - Like Ikkitousen, but change the dilemas of fate plot for one guy not having sex with a collection of hotties who clearly want it as much as he does. Awesome fights though.
*Afro Samurai - YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANYTHING ELES LIKE IT!
*Full Metal Alchemist - Both the original, and the brotherhood series which follows the manga more closely. Awesome story and funny humour.
*Durarara! - A very interesting and complex plot, very character focused.
*Bleach and Naruto - They have their moments, but they tend to drag on for ages mostly because they are based on a manga still being written and keep having to resort to filler arcs. On the other hand, they are mainstream for a reason so judge for yourself.
*Azumanga Daioh - Very comedy focused slice of life show.

Well Highschool of the dead has plenty of boobs and it has to be some sort of magic to prevent their massive back pain

Eve No Jikan lacks magic and boobs but fills in that hole with greatness. Same with Usagi Drop but theri it replaces it with nut busting adorableness

Elfen Lied is the first anime that comes to mind. I'd also recommend Negima?!, although that is a little spastic (it's hilarious). Drgagonaut is a an okay choice if you're looking for boobs, but it's kind of a terrible anime. Gurren Lagann is just awesome. Period. The Ugly Yet Beautiful World is also really good. Man, I'm going to have trouble listing all the ones I've seen. We'll start with the above.

P.S. Oh! That's right! Baccano! and Durarara! are excellent anime, as well, if you're willing to be a little confused for a while. OH! And The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya!

Beyond what others have already mentioned, Freezing and Legend of the Legendary Heroes were both solid animes with magic and tits.

If you're anything like me and you love the typical "cynical loser male with a bit of charm and the slightest hint of wit with a touch of misanthrope" then go for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (mainstream and upbeat), The Tatami Galaxy (artsy, comedic and sardonic) or Welcome to the NHK (depressing, hilarious and insane).

One Piece. it is awesome.. bit childish in the first few episodes but it really picks up (plus it'll keep you going for a while with over 500 episodes lol) fair amount of boob, and its based in a world with "devil fruit" which give ppl different powers.

Interlude.
Less known, less understood.

No magic, but there are monsters and different realities. It's not your generic Ranma/Tenchi setting (one guy, plenty of girls), but there are titties and stuff. :)

Want boobs and I guess magic (more a sci-fi setting) watch Dragonauts, it has an interesting plot and curious art style since it mixes 3D with anime (not the only anime to do so, I know).

For an interesting twist on a classic story (though lacking in tits and magic), Gankutsuou is a great (if very weird) take on The Count of Monte Cristo, with a bizarre art style and just a great layout of the story.

Try Speed Grapher. It's not my cup of tea, but it's got what you asked for...

Here's a synopsis for you:

More than 10 years have passed since the bubble economy ended. The world has polarized into the wealthy and the poor, and Japan is not an exception. Wealth is pursing its desire and pleasure, and Tokyo has become a city of pleasure.

Saiga is a photo journalist, but his passport was confiscated and he has to stay in Japan. One day, he is asked to cover a secret club, "Roppongi Club". It is a club which only a few selected people can join. It is said that the member can get ultimate pleasure. He manages to get in the club. Then, he meets a girl, Kagura, who asks him for help. She is manipulated by the manager, Suitengu, and she is treated as the symbol of the club. Saiga runs away with her. After that, he finds he has obtained a special ability by the encounter with her. Also, the pursuers of Roppongi Club are those who have obtained special abilities.

I don't really watch anime, but my sister does, and she quite liked death note. It there isn't any kind of fancy magic or boobs, but it has a good story and is rather short.

Seikon no Qwazer. You asked for it pretty much by what it consists of. Magic. Boobs. It's not even just fanservice. The plot is specifically about boobs.

So... yeh. There's that you can watch.

I hesitate since "big boobs and magic" anime isn't exactly my style but, assuming that jiggling isn't a hard requirement and focusing on fantasy settings with lots of action, I recommend:

Fate/Stay Night : It wasn't one my favorites, but people go on and on about it, plus the sequel Fate/Zero is coming out on crunchyroll free

Katanagatari : interesting style, lots of action, and features the Dr. Manhattan of martial artists

Ga-Rei Zero : not much to say other than it will surprise you and has lots of demon fighting action with improbable weapons

Claymore : does some interesting stuff but otherwise is your standard fantasy action show

Darker Than Black : more of an X-men style super powers setting, but one where the powers are used brutally and effectively (imagine X-men if all the mutants were also sociopaths). my personal favorite of these 5. Lots of action, lots of violence, some brooding.
