I'm looking to upgrade my computer for Battlefield 3, and at the moment I'm thinking of getting one of two CPUs. I don't really know a lot about what makes a CPU better than another (besides that more cores > fewer cores) so could someone please tell me whether it's worth getting the slightly more expensive CPU or whether the differences are minimal enough for it not to make much of a difference.

The CPUs are these two: http://www.ebuyer.com/251596-intel-core-i5-2500k-3-3ghz-socket-1155-6mb-cache-retail-boxed-processor-bx80623i52500k

You may have to upgrade the motherboard as well if you get the i7, computer specs is handy...You know, there's not really much point upgrading the CPU unless it's being bottle necked or it's failing to keep-up with the generations old software that they are pumping out on the consoles.

Are you going to OC? Do you want HT? using SLI?

If you are splashing money, just go for the i7-950.

Eh, I wouldn't get a LGA 1366 CPU. They are phasing out. I would get a LGA 1155 or wait for the LGA 2011 to come out.
