I sort of want to say skies of Arcadia, floating worlds are kind of cool.
I definitely agree with you on this! Being something of a sky pirate would be awesome!
plus yes, floating worlds are just full of win.
Speaking of which, Sky land is still airing at like 4 am up here. Gotta get some floating land action in my life. Also a nomadic lifestyle is really appealing to me for unspecific reasons.

I would be far more cautious with inebriation in a world where you could fall off the edge forever. The prospect of going anywhere yet coming back to the same bed everynight is definitely a plus though.

Now, I WOULD say Equestria, but... I mean, so far we've had an demi-god try to prevent the sun from rising, a lord of chaos take over the world and an enormous army of doppelgangers that want to feed on your love invade the capital city.
...
...
Fuck it, I'd still pick Equestria.

Probably something like Hyrule, or Discworld. Definitely not Tamriel, Steelport/Stillwater, Fallout Universe, or places like that--far too dangerous.

So, I've had quite a bit of time to think lately, having broken my arm, I hadn't been able to go to work until quite recently, whilst I was homebound and extremely bored, I got to thinking, just how dull our life CAN be, and just wondered Escapists, if there was one fictional reality that you could turn our reality into, what would it be? and for what reasons?

For me, it would easily be Pokemon, for so many reasons that I just don't have the time or patience to list them all.

I think many people would probably go for Pokemon and have many reasons themselves that they will surely explain if they post.

Who wouldn't want something like a little Growlithe following them around?!

-Sinbad.

Captcha: Cheese Burger...Mmmmm.
I am Terminate421 and this is my favorite world to live in.

I'd wall down the street with a sense of badassery with my Empoleon and having my chatot on my shoulder.

Also, I'd get all the Bitchs

Considering we just had this thread and half of the posters there wanted to live in that particular monstrosity of a world for inexplicable reasons, this is a reasonable prediction.

Seriously, while the things are just cards or a 32 bit digital figure its understandable to overlook the problems, but what exactly is so appealing about beating the crap out of animals in order to enslave them into fighting other animals that you would want to do it in person?
Because Pokemon fight for you in a mutual relationship. Battles are not fatal or nearly fatal and we have rules and such to prevent death.

Also, they have the intellect of a human 10 year old (not maturity) and have powers, they also love you if treated right.

Also technology in the Pokemon world is stuff we would have in like 2030.

Also guns are hardly used.

Middle Earth if I get to be some kick-ass warrior elf who lives in Rivendell(it may be a bit of a cliché, but it's what I used to imagine for myself 24/7 when I was a kid).

For futuristic settings, Mass Effect (pre-ending) or Star Trek. I like those more optimistic visions of the future. In the Mass Effect universe I obviously have to basically be Commander Shepard as she is in my play-throughs, complete with all the squadmates and crew from the games :p In the Star Trek universe I'd want to be chief of security on an awesome, top of the range starship.

Yeah, I always desperately wanted to join the military. Sadly my medical record prevents me from doing so, so I guess this is all wish-fulfilment.

Despite the fact that I wouldn't last five minutes (what with being a squishy little human) I would quite like to live in the Polity.

Are you from Hocotate? If not then you're either dead or going to end up stepping on Olimar.

The Land of Ooo. With Animal Crossing as a close runner up. Oh, maybe LittleBigPlanet... Yeah I'm gonna stick with Ooo at the moment. What time is it?

Let's say you get 2 or 3 powers then?
Cool beans.

Shapeshifting [True, anything while gaining all abilities of the new form while also being able to change what I touch into another form, for example metal to wood.]
Regeneration [Full flawless even from death, high speed while also granting immunity to disease, poison and ageing. Ability to use it on others to heal them from their ills too.]
Phasing [Think Kitty pride]

It would all technically be one power: shapeshifting. The body puts itself back together to the form I take if damaged (regen) and I can slip my body molecules between matter (phasing)

I would choose the DC Universe. People in the Marvel universe are jerks on average.

The Star Trek universe. They have every need catered for with holodecks and replicators and earth is a utopia.
A wise choice! One I would have picked my self.

First choice would be the Star Trek universe during TNG times...though porn universe is pretty compelling...everyone is hot, horny and down for pretty much anything all the time...

Fire Emblem, specifically Elibe. That place just seems so... Adventure-y, and nice enough most of the time. Plus, there isn't a Demon king looking to kill me and use my corpse as an extension of his malevolent will. Ideally, I'd be a Shaman. Shamans are bitching!

They've had a cure for pox since the dark ages (not small pox, but that's a different disease entirely.)

The problem is the cure involves molten mercury and your dongle.... yeah.

[sub]pox is syphilis btw[/sub]

While this may sound crazy, I chose Westeros from A Song of Ice and Fire. I have a thing for seemingly dark worlds filled with war and ancient evil.
You do sound crazy, because while that's a world we enjoy observing, you would not want to actually be in it - just think of how many people are oppressed peasants, and how many of them are likely to die as collateral damage from some war. Even for the nobility, there's an unusually high mortality rate and backstabbery than among most medieval settings, including the actual one.

As to where I'd like? Well, optimistic space sci-fi has been mentioned with Star Trek/Mass Effect, those certainly sound good. Also, places with magic of some sort as part of the environment would be pretty awesome too, like Avatar (the show), or Harry Potter if it actually had some rules to it.
