This is pretty straight foward, Which game company do you think make the worst games, and which make the best games in your opinion. i understand that answers will vary between people depending on what genre of games they like, but it will be interesting nonetheless.

Since im a RPG fan, i think the Squaresoft made the best games, and ironically Square-enix now makes the worst games. Atlus currently make the best games ( imo ) and square-enix still make the worst.
Well, it would be hard to pick a "worst" developer because simply by surviving to produce enough games to the point where we've heard of them, you can't call the product objectively bad. Companies that make absolutly awful games tend to go under fairly quickly.

If I had to pick, I'd probably point to Zynga, because there is nothing you can say about those games that is objectively good, other than their abillity to appeal to and addict casual gamers. They are however a highly successful company despite the quality of what they churn out.

Of course this is coming from a position of general ignorance, since I don't really play porn games or visual novels. The actual "worst" is probably some Japanese visual novel company that is just barely hanging on by a thread, producing low quality Vor porn for a tiny, but dedicated audience.... :p

Lacking the knowlege to actually name companies like that, though they doubtlessly exist, it's hard to give a definitive answer. You might find someone on say "Something Awful" who could answer this though. :)

Probability of Infinity Ward and Treyarch being brought up: 100%. Should be a new Godwin's Law or something.

Anyway, City Interactive. Sea of horrendous budget shooters that wouldn't be so horrible if they didn't try to trick people into buying them.

Square Enix hasn't made a good game since the PS1 days in my opinion.
I would argue that dragon quest IX is awesome but I'm really not sure how much input they had or whether it was mainly level 5's work.

Bioware.... GOT YA!

But in all seriousness Valve. GOT YA AGAIN!

I think every company has one good game to call its own. If I have to say its the ones who make those "truck simulator UK" things that I see in GAME.
I think it's SCS software. now if you look at their blog, they made a whole new game engine with new feutures, & FINALLY are making a next gen quality game

I thin for me it will be zynga, city interactive or squeenix.

Any company who reverts to combining two separate entities into one game, like AlternatePFG said above. Street Fighter vs. DC Comics and crap like that is just a revelation that they have run out of good ideas.
Marval VS Capcom was a rather good fighting game in the 90
haven't played any any of the newer ones or DC VS MK but crossover fighting games have been going on long before they have run out of good ideas

OT: Lionhead im sorry Peter but you don't know how to make a RPG

Zipper Interactive - They have never made a good game.

Ever.
MechWarrior 3, you big dummy.

Square-Enix gets my vote, Square and Enix have pumped out little but remakes and shit games since the merger.

I'd have to go with Rockstar. All of their titles that I have played are quarter-assed (since sandbox games are already half-assed) updates of one of their older titles. I can't stand anything they've released.

Koei, what? I don't like Dynasty Warriors
2nd place goes to Treyarch who didn't get first place because I actually did like Ultimate Spider-Man

Infinity Ward, and less-so Treyarch.

Seriously though, CoD is now shit, although i keep going back for one more game. I dont wanna!
You need to train yourself to overlook or ignore any mention of CoD in word or text.

Whether this works is up to you.

I'll also add Sledgehammer to the list. True, they havent actually done a game yet, but that first game will be a CoD.

It has to be some obscure movie tie-in game/shovelware studio, because there's simply no way for the rest of the market to fail quite so hard.

Differentiating between companies that make games that are simply bad and games that were never intended to appeal to your taste specifically isn't really something that can be done too easily.

[sub]But I do hate Tale of Tales and Quantic Dream. Bethesda's games don't appeal to me, but I never liked Diablo 2 much either.[/sub]

Stellar Stone. Basically the only game they've ever released is Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Yeah.

Treyarch for sure.

Though the "when is release day coming again?" award for the most times having to cut content and release a game without even cursory Quality Assurance goes to Obsidian. The fact their games STILL are some of the best in genre despite having been rushed to market half-finished just goes to show how great they really are though.

That said, if I have to replay the HK-50 fight on Talus one more time because all my NPC companions go into developer debug mode the minute I step through the door into the academy... I'm going to air mail my copy of KotOR:TSL through the window.

Square-Enix,

Since Kingdom Fraks.
Just utter utter madness, the ammount of sh*t a company can make.
Makes LJN look like Bioware.

LJN.

A little Backstory : LJN Made poorly built Movie-Licensed games, for the NES, and SNES. None of them are good, and if you own an Emulation/NES/Are a fan of AVGN, you know what I'm talkin' about.
No pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. I think I had a few of their games on my NES.
