Which game first?

First off, wasn't sure whether to put this in gaming or off-topic, but thought it would be more suited here.

I just ordered my first proper computer! Intended for music production, CAD, and of course, gaming!
I've already ordered Fallout 3, and am definitely getting SP: Conviction as it's not coming to the PS3. My question is, Which game shall I get first? I haven't played a PC game since Age of Empires 3 came out, and I'm sure there's been plenty of good'uns since then. As for genre, I'm up for anything.

Just thought of another question, concerning Modern Warfare 2. I've already preordered it for the PS3, but am currently thinking about getting it for the PC instead. It's mainly the multiplayer I'm interested in, so what are the differences? I imagine it will have better and more sophisticated players, and reaction speed being a lot quicker due to the mouse instead of controller. This is guess work, so I could be wrong.

for the fallout order, try the game of the year edition. takes longer to get, but has all add-ons. also if you like football, try and get football manager 2010 when its released (don't know when)

Warcraft 3 and Starcraft are both great RTS's, although they are somewhat old. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a pretty good shooter, and Devil May Cry 4 is also a fairly good game. Left 4 Dead is good, although Left 4 Dead 2 comes out soon, so you can make a decision on that. KOTOR 1 and 2 are both fantastic RPG's, and the Star Wars theme adds to the awesomeness. These are all somewhat old, but are all pretty good.

Mass Effect PC if you don't mind that the MAKO is undrivable in the PC version, the zoom made it driveable in the 360 version but the MAKO doesn't follow the zoom in the PC version. >.<

Other than that, the Orange Box or any Blizzard game are good choices.

.. I don't like Half Life.

I played it on a friends computer for a while, and although I enjoyed the gravity gun, I just didn't enjoy it much.

However, if it's going cheap then I'll pick it up, but it wont be my first buy.

Ummm, WoW is fun if u like MMO's and the new expansion is coming out.
Oh and Aion is supposed to be good....and i think the new guild wars is coming out, soooo there are plenty to choose from.
Fallout 3 is pretty fun.
