I know these threads are generally unappreciated but whatever.

So, I've got 40$ to blow on games and I want to take advantage of the huge sale on Steam. I'm interested in action, RPGs, and sandboxes mostly but anything works. I already have Team Fortress 2, The Half Lives, Portal, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, And all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.Rs.

I'd appreciate it a lot if you guys could give me some suggestions. :)

I'm not sure how much it is on Steam, but try to go for Fallout 3 GoTY edition, it seems to be in your general interests.

EDIT: Just checked, it's $37 dollars, just in your price range!

Mass Effect can probably tide you over for a good while (and set you up for Mass Effect 2)
Half Life series just because it's awesome
Haven't played the rest, but Portal seems interesting if judging the demo means anything

Get Red Alert 3 and Morrowind. They come out to a total of around $15, and are both pretty good.
Also, get Audiosurf. It is like Guitar Hero, but you can play your own music, and it is really fucking cool.

Definitely KOTOR. I just bought it off Steam for $5 USD a little while ago. More then worth it.

So much for reading thoroughly.....
KOTOR series? Doom 3 if your computer can run it. Devil May Cry 3 if you have a gamepad (and don't have it on PS2). Is the rest of the DMC series on Steam?

I tried the demo for L4D2 an had a lot of fun so I think I'm going to with either that or Fallout 3: GOTY edition.

Opinions?

No, Devil May Cry 3 is the only one. Didn't Ubisoft a horrible job at porting great Capcom title to the PC?

depends on what you already own, i'd get the orange box for sure if i hadn't already. the same goes for mass effect and bioshock. if you didn't alreasy own them you could probably buy all for around £40

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective. It's the best of 2009 in my opinion.

try to listen to it through good speakers/headphones if you can and it obviously won't be to all tastes but try to be objective.

No idea. I bought the anniversary edition for PS2. I only know that DMC3 was on Steam. Is it even the Special Edition?

I'll have a look.

Well, I just got Killing Floor, and I have to say, it's brilliant if you're into that sort of thing.

Also, Half Life 1, KOTOR, Company Of Heroes gold, The Longest Journey, Silent Hunter III and the original Fallout are all under 10 quid.
Got Fallout 1 off Steam recently, it was equal parts fantastic and infuriating.

Waiting ten minutes for the Deathclaw mum to hit you over and over and over was rather dull, and particularly annoying when she would score a random beast critical and one hit kill you...

Story was great though.
