TimeShift is a really great FPS. At least I thought it was great. If you want a long lasting RPG, then I'd recommend Lost Odyssey. It is in fact a JRPG, but it's great nonetheless. Actually, I was iffy about Lost Odyssey because my hate towards most JRPGs, but the game turned out to be one of my favorites for the 360.

Tales of Vesperia is probably the best RPG on the 360. I'd say go with that. The story is interesting and has some surprising twists. It doesn't have a typical turn based battle system like most RPGs. Grinding is actually fun, though not required. Plus the grade shop and titles will keep you playing it again and again.

Buy Prey.

Sure, it was a launch title, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a fantastic game.

Also get Castle Crashers, that's a n obvious one.

I'd recommend gears 2, cod 4, assassin's creed(it's really cheap in pawn shops), fallout 3, the orange box(found it for $20 regular price), and try renting prototype the game was really fun.

I just bought Battlefield: Bad Company and a friend of mine lent me Rainbow Six: Vegas and they're both awesome shooters, you can also try out the Gears of War series, I really enjoyed them. lastly, some random games I just though of are GtaIV, Bioshock, Asssasins Creed and call of duty 4

all these are games I had enormous fun with

Try the Tom Clancy Games. Especially Endwar.
Its a customisable rts style game, but you dont have to build any buildings at the begining of missions. You just get an army and kill the other dudes. its set in WWIII just 11 years in the future.
If you like that try a first person shooter with a similar story called Frontlines: fuels of war. Check out the trailers for both. Actually. Im going to paste them in here. Give me a sec

Really?

I'm a bit of an RPG nut but the demo didn't get me that interested...
Though i'm going to give the demo another go now you've said that.

Echoing some other people:
RPG-wise Lost Odyssey is a must IMHO
fallout 3 + oblivion (though if you have a PC that's capable of handling them, get the PC version at all costs. The mod scene is beyond amazing for these games, you're getting half the game on consoles.)
I also rate highly: Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean 4, Fable 2, Last remnant, Mass Effect. (depends what style of RPG you like though, it's a fairly random mix i've mentioned :) )

Pretty much anything on the Platinum Hits category is good and cheap so you could always peek at the list of games there and check em out. Other then that theres all the mainstays that everyone above me already said so yeah.

How the hell is he gonna choose haha, we've given him about 600 different games...

I'd go for either Fallout 3 or the Oblivion/Bioshock bundle, you'll get a lot of time from either.

Other RPGs i enjoyed were Star Ocean: The Last Hope, atleast 50+ hours for that, But Fallout 3 with the expansions for it is a great choice, as is mass effect and Saints Row 2 for something a lil different.

Fable 2, fallout 3, mass effect and star ocean (JRPG)are great fun and really lengthy with a good story For good multiplayers go with left 4 dead, battle field 1943 or either cod 4 or world at war they are probably the biggest online games around at the moment

The demo really doesn't do it justice. I'd give it a rental if I were you. All the Tales games are great and Vesperia stays true to that.

I recommend downloading Castle Crashers off of Xbox Live. The game near flawlessly brings the elements of RPGs, beat-em-ups, and multiplayer together. Try the demo before you buy it though, so you can tell if you like it. Rent the original Gears of War if you like. It has a good story with good character development and an ok multiplayer element. If you enjoyed the first, try the second. You get to go deeper into the story of the characters and have a much better multiplayer element with the addition of "Horde".
