Which Games Did You Miss?

I love video games. I have a lot of friends that love video games. Whenever we hear about some brilliant new release or true gem that lies within the category of "video game" we always try to learn more about it, and later try to buy it.

However, I have fallen victim to a particular kind of apathy that I terribly regret having. Sometimes, I just won't get a game, even if I wanted it.

This is about those games that you wanted, but never got around to purchasing. As a result, they just sort of drifted by you, and have become a memory, a very sad memory.

The game that I never got around to getting was Star Wars: Republic Commando. People on this site may very well chastise me for not getting it. I really did want it. I played the demo that was on the KotOR 2 game disc and enjoyed every second of it. But, I just never got around to buying it, which is something I regret to this day. From what I hear, it was a truly brilliant example of squad-based shooting, simple and elegant, but also incredibly fun. Then again, I have no way of knowing, since I never played it in full.

Has anybody else here done the same thing?

Quite a bit of the classic PS2 library. Fortunately, those games are dirt cheap nowadays so I'm fixing that.

I've already bought XIII, the Timesplitters series and, most recently, Beyond Good and Evil. Now I'm looking at Black and Red Faction.

I played Red Dead Revolver and loved it, but I have not played Red Dead Redemption. Keep thinking about getting it, but never do.

This has always confused me. Why do you refer this game in the past tense? It hasn't ceased to exist, in fact it's probably a fair bit cheaper now. How about you just buy it, play it and enjoy it.

Games that I intend to play but haven't yet include: Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, The Force Unleashed, many PS2 games now that I have one and also many western and steampunk style games.

Deus Ex, and SystemShock. I don't even know if I could find a copy of SystemShock anymore, and Deus Ex is so dated I am not sure I could play through it and not feel silly (same with SystemShock).

Anyway, I hear they're great games.

A number of times I've considered finally starting WoW, and just never have. I even bought it once, but returned in the next day after just changing my mind. At this point I'm just not gonna bother, since FFXIV is coming soon.

Rachet and Clank. Doubt I ever will get the chance, I'm on a 360 until the next gen, and I doubt there will be much backwards compability.

Warcraft 3: I used to play DotA with my old roommate on his laptop/desktop. But after I moved out, I just never got around to getting a copy of my own.

Force Unleashed: I've wanted to play it and it has been on sale a couple of times on Steam. But I always seem to find that my money (and time) is needed for other things.

FallOut 3: Same as force unleashed.

Honestly, I think I need to finish my extensive back log before I commit anymore money to new games.

If I were to tell you the games I've missed, I'd be here all freaking day. So, instead I'll tell you the games I did not miss. Just Cause 2. Yea...that's it. All the other games that have come out in the past year I have not had a chance to play.
