Wait, ZUUUUUUUWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTTT?

ODST was one of the best Halo games and I don't even like the series all that much. It had one of the better stories and introduced Firefight. The characters were good, too.

Hmm. If I had to say, I'd probably go with Final Fantasy.
Not that I didn't like the series, I thought it was fun (yes even XIII).
The only FF games I didn't exactly like was FFXI and, most likely, FFXIV.
While Final Fantasy was, or is depending on your viewpoint, a good series;
It has gone on for quite a while. It's like a person who doesn't stop when they start moving,
Square Enix gained good money from the FF franchise and as such, they're mostly content to
keep making games of/for it, and a good number of people are content to continue buying the games
(I believe so, at least)

So yeah. FF went good, but it's like that one saying 'too much of a good thing can be/get bad'.
At least FF also tried different genres within itself, but I still stand by my main point.

Assassins Creed.

I love the games, but it's annoying when they say Brotherhood is going to be Ezio's last game.. And now he's in the next game.. As well as Altair. They seem afraid to think of new ideas and settings now that to refresh it they add an old character with an even older character. :/

It's not so much the games, because they can be re-written and enhanced by decent developers. I think the writer of the new Final Fantasy should have his balls in a vice for making such a terrible game, I'll think of more people who need shooting and add them later.

I've been in the Year 2027. Final Fantasy is on number XXVII. So I guess I'll go with Final Fantasy.

Sonic. Should have died like, 2 console generations ago.
Zelda is starting to wear really thin, IMO.
Final Fantasy is getting pretty on in the years as well.
Dynasty warriors should probably go. Not because the idea or concept, just because they just get worse every time I player a newer one...

Hilarious violence aside, that's actually a fucking fantastic philosophy. We shouldn't target a series- we should talk about how the right people should be developing them.

The constant sequels of games (Even if they are good ones) are becoming tedious beyond belief.

So fellow escapees, which games do you think should stop already?

I personally think the halo series, I mean ODST was just Awful and Reach was ok I guess, and now they are developing Halo 4! when will it end?!
i think you mean Halo 3 was just awful cause if you'd played ODST you would know that it was probably the best one since the first......

OT: god of war.......its been done to death and its the SAME DAM STORY!

As much as I love these two series (and people have already mentioned this, my apologies): Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry. I saw the trailer for DMC 5 and just cried and started writing my suicide note. GAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! IT LOOKS HORRIBLE!!!!

Call of Duty... oh, wait, everyone else already said it.

Final Fantasy. Seriously, they've been lackluster for a while now..

Final Fantasy should end, and new projects opened up.
Silent Hill should be continued but placed in the hands of a new team (perhaps Downpour will be just that)
Sonic should be taken away from Sega's Sonic Team entirely, perhaps made into the first 'fan domain' property for indie developers.
Call of Duty should, oddly enough, continue. Why? Because there's no REASON for it to die other than being not a very good shooter. Economically it's got a lot of life left.
Pokemon should have a new start from Zero beginning when a new handheld takes the market (that isn't a failure like the 3DS)

And if anyone suggests Total War should end I reserve the right to punch them.
Yes these are all the best choices.

You know, Bungie aren't even working on Halo anymore. They've handed the reins to Micro... err, 343 Industries. Bungie DID "Finish the Fight".
Which is a shame, cuz as much as I believe Halo pales in comparison to shooters that actually evolved over the last 10 years, 3 was fun, and there was an extra something admirable about Bungie saying this is the end of Master Chief's story. Gave the end more punch.
...And then Micro-soulless took MC and said 'there's more money in him, keep beating'.

God this answer is predictable. I knew the OP was going to be this AGAIN before I clicked the thread.

Reach has better graphics, gameplay and AI than halo 3. It has different characters. ODST is a different style of gameplay, and the story is told though flashbacks. Halo 4 has new enemies, settings, none of the weapons are returning, it's being made by a different studio so everything will be different. There's been the addition of Firefight and armour abilities. Every Halo has new vehicles and new types of enemies to face.

I really wouldnt call that tedious. A lot of people buy it, and if it's making profit they're not going to end it.

The Tomb Raider franchise. As much as I love it because I've played it since it first came out pretty much, it has well outstayed its welcome. I'm gonna get the new game that's coming out soon but that had better be the last one. I mean, I don't know how many times they've changed Lara's backstory; from being disowned to her mother dying in a plane crash. The last two games just annoy me now with the story, ugh.

EDIT: Oh aye and Final Fantasy. I am sick of seeing it, I swear. Then again, Squenix are bringing out the new Tomb Raider game, lol. Mind you, I reckon they should hurry up with Kingdom Hearts 3, as, uh, ashamed as I am to admit to it, haha.

Also most recycled titles that Nintendo keep bringing out. I've had enough of Zelda. Lemme just find the SNES scart to start playing Link to the Past again, hah.

Even I have to admit they need to put TR down... well until they can find a good (preferably British) developer anyhow.

Thing is about FF and Resi, two series people have mentioned, they both have the potential to return to their roots and make games that play like the classics/appease the fans rather than trying there hardest to bring something new every time. I'd glady play another badly translated turnbased FF game again or another survival horror Resi.

Series that do need to be put down are probably the majority of cover based, recharge health shooters, they have more than outstayed their welcome.

I also think Final Fantasy needs to stop. Although, I would not be opposed to them revamping the earlier titles for the 360 and PS3.
