Free ones!

I keep buying games when they're on sale for free. There are a few games (Rat on the Run is great) and a few utilities (weather).

Why isn't Doodlejump on that list?

I can't express exactly how much is wrong with not having it through the internet.

*Examines some more*

Ah, yes, you have Tap Tap Revenge 3. You are redeemed.

A fair number but the interesting ones are Stanza, which is the best eBook reader on the iPhone and Dictionary.com.

The Games:
Peggle, Final Fantasy, Dexter, Monkey Island, Command and Conquer Red Alert, Plants vs Zombies, Let's Golf, Reign, Angry Birds, Star Wars Force Unleashed and Rogue. (Bought every single one of them on sale or free :))

Want to make a simple phone call? Sorry, there isn't an app for that.
You're right... I forgot. I also have Skype for cheap international phone calls as well as the standard iPhone phone app, so... Yes, I can make phone calls. There's probably an app for video calling too. :)

Well, that's fantastic. Good for you.
People are getting so shallow about their phones. If you don't have either an iPhone or Blackberry you're not cool. They're stupidly expensive, especially if you don't buy it on contract. I'd rather have a really good camera on my phone rather than all these apps although I probably should just buy a decent camera...
Anyway, phones were massive, then they got tiny, now they're massive again o_O the Windows phone doesn't even fit in my hand. I do have tiny hands though.

I always used to have the same argument. My last phone before my iPhone had a black-and-white screen :) But I'd argue on the "expensive" thing. My mp3 player and my phone broke in the same week. I managed to combine the two, get "internet-anywhere" and a variety of apps (of which my favourite are the spirit-level, which is useful and Stanza which I use to read ebooks) for the same price as one of those "shockingly amazing shiny new phones" that everyone had. It never seemed expensive for me. :)

Oh and I wasn't trying to show off with the video calling. It's just annoying when people see that you have an iphone and imagine that you have forgotten what it was designed for :)

I've got resident evil 4, trillian, and facebook for apps. I'm a simple man with simple needs - community access, personal contact access, and zombie killing.

Legend, I remember the first colour phone, my dad got one and it had a cat game on it...
Anyway, I'm sure one of my friends said she pays £55 a month for her iPhone o_O I've never been able to afford good things, right now I have a crappy LG Toco lite.
Wouldn't say no to a shiny new iPod though, I've had mine for 3 years =( Museums keep trying to buy it off me.

I've been upgrading since the first iPhone, so I got the original contract extended. It seems expensive, but I've got a phone, an iPod and it pays for all my phone calls and messages so I lose no money there either. I'm sure I come close to breaking even :)
The biggest problem is that they release the new iPhones with "upgrade deals" just often enough that I'm going to be on this "12 month contract" for the rest of my life :(

If it makes you feel better, I feel the silent wish to strangle anyone who uses that "there's an app for that" line without making a joke of some sort :)

The only ones I actually use is Blizzard Authenticator (generates a random password for your WoW account, different every 50 seconds) and the newly released Opera Mini. Opera is just SO much quicker than the regular browser. I think it's because it doesn't load ALL the text on non-mobile websites, just the stuff you're zoomed in on. Seriously, it's two or three times as quick.

I've got a few good ones.
Hook Champ (pretty good faux-retro swing-em-up)
GTA chinatown wars (good port of the DS/PSP game)
Street Fighter IV (another good port)
Final Fantasy (yet another good port)
Dark Void Zero (demake of dark void. ported from the DSiware)
Warpgate (sort of an EVE lite universe sandbox thing)
Depict (pictionary clone)
Canabalt (simple & addictive)
Plants vs Zombies (i'm a sucker for ports, it seems)
N.O.V.A (the halo of the iphone)
aaaand...
Minigore (essential purchase. endless waves of monsters to kill.)

There is only one app you need. SHAZAM
It listens to music, and tells you who the artist, song name, and album name is.
And that's awesome.
