Which is better, Half Life 2 or Call of Duty Modern warfare 2?

My friends and I had a big discussion today, half of the people at my school are what you'd call "CoD Bashers" meaning the only game they play is Call Of Duty MW2. And my friend and I prefer Half Life 2, as it's obviously the best game ever.
But seriously, which game do you guys prefer out of the 2? Please escapists, prove to me you have good tastes in games.

Actually, if one is a CoD basher, I would imagine that means they hate the game and only ever bad-mouth it, in essence, "bashing" it.

OT: As a multiplayer experience, MW2 is hard to beat, but judging both by the amount of fun I have playing each, I'd say HL2 takes the cake.

Dude, MW2 was released four years after Half Life 2. MW2's campaign is better.

However, HL2: DM is still better than any non-Valve multiplayer FPS on the market.

Well, I think I'd have to go with MW2 myself. It's not that I'm a huge fan of MW2 or anything, but, to be honest, I found HL2 kind of boring. Though I imagine it's probably better if you can play it on a computer, but I've only got it for the 360, so maybe I'm not even evaluating it on fair grounds.

Shouldn't that mean they don't like CoD? Also these games are both shooters and that's pretty much where similarities end. I've had fun with both, but I doubt i'll be going back to either one of them any time soon. I'm one of those people that thinks CoD is horribly unbalanced, and Half-Life warrants a playthrough but isn't the holy grail of gaming (and yes, i've played it since the first one came out).

In terms of Multiplayer? Obviously MW2 - Half Life 2 doesn't have any stand-alone multiplayer (unless you count HL2DM...I don't)

In terms of story and gameplay? Hands down, Half Life 2.

run for the hills the town is one fire, though I will be an odd one and say MW2, I just enjoyed its single-player a lot more, while HL2 wasn't bad I felt its single-player got a bit boring.
