That's fair. I should have mentioned that I'm not done with InFamous yet. You probably know better than me so I'll take your word for it, but so far I've found Cole a much more likable character than Alex. Of course that could all change with the next mission I suppose. I'm also playing "Light Side of the Force" first so it's entirely possible that I'm just a sap.Multi-Kill said:Yes, but you have to admit, the story in inFamous is'nt exactly not generic either. Also, I think thats the point with Alex. He's not supposed to be the kind of character you can love. He's the kind of guy your supposed hate. Hell, even before the virus, he was a bigger dick then what he is now.ZZoMBiE13 said:Prototype is great but the story is disjointed and not very satisfying. Alex Mercer is not a character that evokes sympathy or empathy in any way. He's just your death vehicle in your quest to wreak havoc. Of course all the destruction is a blast but after a week I was done with the game and not interested in playing it anymore.
InFamous doesn't have that same visceral satisfaction of pure chaos that Prototype does, but it's way more slick. The graphic novel presentation of story elements is awesome and you find yourself looking forward to the next one. Combat is exciting and fun, mostly because Cole isn't a brick shithouse who can soak up bullets. Run into a firefight unprepared and you're going to be reloading very soon. That's a good thing though.
So far, I like InFamous better. But both are great games for what they are.
Also, Cole McGrath is'nt exactly likeable either.
