My first thought was "Ugh... Gundum... Yet somehow I knew..."

Then I read the thing that claims it was inspired by Starship Troopers... Now I'm utterly satisfied :D

Hell... now I just want the to be the Starship Trooper suits.

The book's though... not the movie. I don't want to be football pads.

Ya I got it too. They're pretty badass. Check out Endless waltz, you can probably download it somewhere. The story's are ridiculously convoluted but the mech combat is amazing to watch, especially in the climax.

Still shocked there's no one coming up with Gurren Laagen.

Hell yeah, I got me the Gundam badge. Slightly annoyed that it says RX-78 Gundam when the picture is off the 00 Gundam though.

hate to be 'that guy'

but that's not the RX-78 in the badge image, I believe its the Exia from 00 /being that guy

They tried to get back to the book in the third movie with the Marauder suits but it was still far from being the one man army that the suits in the book were.

HELLA COOL! I've been on a nostalgia kick with MMPR as of late and I'm glad to see I've scored the classic Mega Zord.
