I am currently building a new PC, nad now I have to decide which one of these two processors,
the: Intel Core? i7 Quad Processor i7-2600K
or the: Intel Core? i7 Quad Processor i7-950
and yes, I will take i7 since that is what my future motherboard likes.

No need to answer now, I have decided.
Anyhow, now the question of compatibility arises. Do these components work together?
ASUS P6X58D-E, Socket-1366 ; Cooler Master Silent Pro M700 700W PSU ; Gainward GeForce GTX 570 1280MB PhysX ; Western Digital Caviar® Green? 2TB ; Intel Core? i7 Quad Processor i7-2600K

And please say something if I forgot a component.

Your CPU and mobo are incompatible.

Also, out of curiosity, what is this for exactly?

it is for a new gaming computer, I already have a chassi, though I might have to replace it.
Also saw that I forgot the memory.
BTW: What? My motherboard is compatible with the processor. Motherboard is compatible with i7, processor is an i7.
prob missed something here.
Also my first time to build a computer.

I7 2600k is socket 1155 while that mobo is for socket 1366

all right, the mobo is switched to a "Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4, Socket-1155". Now I just have to find a memory.
But, it's late now so that will have to wait for tomorrow.

I would suggest Corsair vengeance, I have only heard good things about them

This could have already been resolved but here are my thoughts:

That motherboard won't go with the I7 2600K, you will need an LGA 1155 motherboard. OR you will need a first generation I7 930 upwards.I personally suggest the I7 2600K with a 1155 motherboard as you will get to OC to 4.6GHz on air no problem.

Coolermaster aren't exactly known for their PSU's, go for Antec, Corsair, Seasonic or Silverstone.

The 570 is good.

Caviar Greens reduce performance for energy conservation purposes, in your build that is hardly something you're going for. Use 2 x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3's in RAID 0.

What's your RAM? I suggest 2 x 4 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz sticks for a nice OC.

Seems like you have some cash, why no SSD for your boot drive?

I saw what the final cost was and had to modify some stuff. I got some unclear iformation about my funding.
I'm going to change the CPU to an i5, still 1155 socket, mobo is the same as my latest entry.
Will prob have to cut back on the graphics card as well, sadly enough. Will start at the memory though since the corsair vengeance was kinda expensive and I know someone who works with computers and he says you don't really need that kinda memory for gaming.
I will have to see what I will find, this also has to do with the fact that I have to by a new computer screen and this calls for me adjusting costs. And it is possible I will need a new chassi.
Hope it will go at around 10k tops.
Feels like I have portrayed myself as richer than I am. Anyhow this is my first PC and I am still learning.
I will take a 6GB memory stick (2x3). However, I would like some advice on a good harddrive to take, and a good power supply.
Looking forward for the advice!
With my current setup I'm at about 10k sek, or aproxiamately 1000 euro. Still going to try and cut down on the graphics card.
How is this graphics card? "ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550Ti 1GB AMP! ®" And this PSU? "Corsair HX 850W PSU"

Samsung Spinpoint F3 for HDD and Corsair is fine for a PSU; just make sure it's 80+.

The 550Ti is pretty underpowered; upgrade to a 6950.

Also, 850w is overkill, drop down to 650w.

And 4GB of RAM is all you need for gaming.

And you probably already picked this one, but as far as i5's go, the only one really worth getting right now is the 2500k.

EDIT: tbh if you really wanted to save some cash, then going AMD is perfectly viable.

the 850 si also for there so that I will be able to upgrade Graphics card when needed, and I can also go i7 when the i5 is outdated.
It also has a bit to do with lazyness, I found a mobo, I don't want to look for a new one.
I now have everything except for harddrive, and since my membership on a website dedicated to this stuff is too recently made for me to create threads, my last question will go here.

Why use the Raid 0 config on the harddrives. if I find the answer satisfying I will take this and feel pleased.

If you need the performance then two 1TB drives in RAID 0 is useful.

But I wouldn't buy another HDD just for it; using a single HDD is fine.

ok, now I'm having some trouble with choosing a harddrive.
Just give me advice on a good 2TB harddrive so I can be content with my rig.
I'm thinking "Western Digital Caviar® Black 2TB".
Thanks for the help everyone!

Caviar Blacks are fine.

My personal preference are Spinpoint F3's but I don't know where you can get 2TB ones.
