I don't really like sci-fi, so either the medievally setting of Dragon-age-like-games or just the random settings of JRPGs (which sometimes are slightly medieval too actually).

So... the Medievil setting is the only fantasy setting you know?
Then how about Victorian Age steampunk settings? Not entirely sure if it can always be counted as a true 'fantasy setting', but I know Final Fantasy IX's steampunk-esque world certainly does.
As for my favorites (except for FF IX):
- Shadow Hearts (I & II) alternate WW I setting that included monsters and magic.
- The modern day post-apocalyptic setting with human souls, demons, magic and lots of occult stuff from Lucifer's Call. Which was practicly an entirely new 'fantasy' setting all on its own.

I like a modern day fantasy setting, where they have the same technology as us but instead of cars running through science their run through magic. So you still have magic and dragons but it's more current, and not sci-fi. Still sci-fi fantasy is still fine as long as people have magic and chase around mythological creatures/monsters. Pure space sci-fi isn't as interesting to me.
I tend to think of it as Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Maybe it's just the british marketing format affecting me
sci-fi by far, for some reason oblivion kinda sucked the fun out of the fantasy setting for me, I used to really love it

Generic fantasy settings (swords n dragons) are good as long as a lot of imagination has gone into them. Just plonking a dragon and some magic onto an empty field like in Oblivion is boring, it needs more variety and cool stuff that we don't have in real life

I like both, but for different reasons. Sci-fi is interesting purely because it's so science-based. Stuff we see in Star Trek wouldn't be an unthinkable future for earth, and thinking about connections with other civilizations, finding civilizations still in their 'dark ages' and exploring the idea of gaseous forms of life is something I find pretty interesting.
That said, for pure 'fantasy' nothing beats the good ol' medieval might & magic with fireballs and swords setting. That's the kind of fantasy that seems unlikely to ever exist but is lovely for it's elusiveness.
