I think Duke Nukem Forever has a pretty good AI

also, Crysis 1/2 and FarCry series

but that's just me
FarCry has a godmode aim thing going, which bothers me, but other than that, yeah their AI is pretty good.;

Crysis 1 has even better AI when you use the Advanced AI mod, they actually sprint and drop prone in tall grass so you can't see them.

STALKER by far, they felt like real people, one of the very few games I've played where an enemy group made a tactical retreat.

I loved STALKER's AI. They never seemed to really be inept. In open areas, they wouldn't stand and be bullet sponges. In buildings, they would peek around the corners instead of sprinting out.

I'll go with Uncharted 2. The enemies there were awesome at flanking the shit out of me.
Oy, forgot about this one. And boy are they a pain on crushing.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 or Chrome Hounds. Seriously if your not careful the Ai in Vegas will rape you brutally, and anyone who has played Chrome Hounds knows how frustrating the chicken walkers are.

Yeah, I have to admit it's hard. Though speed mode to dash from tree to tree makes it a little easier.

Half-Life had a very good dynamic with its marines. First game I ever played where enemies would find cover, flush you with grenades, outflank, and even flee on occasion. This was made better when mixed with the different alien behaviors.

FEAR clones were decent.

I remember first playing Half Life when I was 12. I was just about to kill an HECU grunt when he started sprinting away. I was like, "Hey, get back here!" and stupidly gave chase, only to wind up with a turret staring at me in the face. First time A.I has tricked me.

I have to agree with Conviction, they seemed more like enemies you might face in real life, rather than enemies that like to throw themselves at you all the time, and hope that one of them manages to kill you.

Although I did find it strange that they all talk loud enough for you to hear exactly what they are saying, which gives you an edge.
Oh my god, and I thought they were exaggerating:

Of all the AI I've encountered F.E.A.R is the one that sticks with me most.

They work as a team, occupying you with gunfire and grenades while one of their number slowly makes his way into a better position. That can be directly behind you if it's possible and you're not paying attention.

Ah the amount of times I died from being outflanked in that game...they also retreat when they've taken losses and wait for you to make your move before countering. It is like fighting real people a lot of the time.

I can't stand the game, but I always thought the AI for mass effect II was good. Especially on Insanity difficulty.
