A quick dirty one for you. Which superhero and which supervillain are you most like?

Please give your reasons and, if possible, ask someone you know if they agree with your choices.

Mostly because I'm a twisted, hopeless, misunderstood, jealous little misanthrope whose hatred of others is only exceeded by his hatred of himself, and whose greatest desire, while modest by society's standards, is forever beyond his reach, mostly just because Ryan Reynolds exists.

Mind you, I only know this version of the character, and knew this one poorly enough that I had to resort to Googling "ugly guy Green Lantern" because I couldn't remember his name.

Batman...according to most people I'm a clueless unheroic person, but I know better.

I'm Mystique because my looks can be deceiving, but I'm Static Shock because I can put a shock to your system...

Other than that, I'm the MC of Persona 3... Enough said...

Do they have to be typical comic book superheroes/villains?

If yes then I'd probably go with... I dunno, Raven? Mostly because I have a tendency to be dark, aloof, the loner-type who insists on not having any friends when in reality I'm probably just lonely and misunderstood. I also associate with Rorschach often because of the grim outlook on life, the willingness to fight dirty using on-the-fly methods and fragmented speech separated by cryptic journal entries drowning in metaphors. Hrmph.

OUTSIDE of comics, at the risk of sounding like "that guy", I've grown rather attached to similarities between myself and Handsome Jack. He wasn't ALWAYS a jerk but he's paranoid and doesn't take any chances because he's been stabbed in the back too many times by people he thought he could trust, he gets bored easily, he has moments of clarity and quiet where he can be rather contemplative and introspective but he LEGITIMATELY doesn't think he does anything wrong. He covers up any insecurities with material possessions and this ego that seems like it can't be crushed. Maybe my mind is just scrambling for reasons though. It's a stretch to anyone who DOESN'T like Handsome Jack. I guess.

What were we talkin' about?

Any questions?
Doesn't that make you DareDevil?

OT: Can't really think of who I'd be most like, so I'll just say Bucky and call it a day.

Never thought of DD as a 'funny' sort of guy.

You should have seen him when he was still in the Yellow suit.

I don't know. Is there a hero or villain who insists on being nice to everyone out of a crippling fear of making enemies and ruining their life by that one enemy convincing everyone else to hate them while also fighting self esteem so low that it baffles me how I haven't attempted suicide yet?

No, DareDevil was just a very different person when he wore the Yellow suit compared to his Crimson one.

I think the Sentry fits your bill.

My go.

I think I'm like the Flash. I'm very laid back and happy-go-lucky, and I also am perpetually annoyed by how much slower everyone else walks.

As for a villain, the Riddler. Because I'm a know-it-all, and I really like to show off with it.

I asked my wife if she agreed - she said I was actually Thor or The Thing, because I like shouting too much.

I think I'd have to say Starfire first off, mostly because I feel like an alien compared to the people around me, thus generally come off as a weirdo.

But there is also Raven, due to the fact that I can be a lonely misunderstood pessimist when I'm down, plus I like the dark.

An argument can be made for Iron Man, because sometimes, no matter how hard I try, things just fall apart on me, driving me in to destructive habits for a while.

Finally I can draw parallels with Spiderman, mostly due to the fact that I like to be nice and helpful, also like Peter Parker, I'm no dummy... Though I still have a goofy sense of humor, drop one liners a lot, and have a tendency to zone out and perform massive internal monologues.

In certain respects though not in any way that is cool, I'm like Batman. When I actually set my mind to a task, I set up circumstances and preparation that ensures that I will damn well accomplish it regardless of whatever obstacles I can see interfering. I do so in ordinary mundane ways but also with efficiency while expending as little effort as necessary.

Villain...?

Maybe Megneto, but also in boring conventional ways. My cynicism does not allow me to act or prepare for things as if they are going to all turn out all right. He knew teh world was a shitty place where things often go for the worst and acted to come out the most on top possible when that happens. I'm kind of like that. He's not even really a villain so much as someone who can't see enough good in the world to act as if being nice and good will allow for his survival.

Interesting, there are a lot of super heroes and villains I like and would like to be but which ones am I like?

Hero wise I would say the Hulk, I'm a pretty smart guy but I got some anger issues to be polite about it.

For a villain, maybe Apocalypse. Fuck the weak.

Uh. I don't know.
Is there a hero that kinda just hopes everything turns out okay and might tag along with the actual heroes sometimes?
Or, you know, a fairly non-evil villain works too. I identified fairly well with Reaver from Fable 2. Finally a character that actually has a reason for what he does.

Superhero...Achilles of Grrl Power. Given the guy's "proper, aggravating invincibility", I'd be a dead ringer for him in all but the appearance department. Which is to say that he pretty much acts and apparently thinks much like I imagine I would if I knew that nothing could hurt me.

Super villain's giving me some difficulty, so I'll get back to that later.

So...Batman of Zur-en-Arrh, then?
